As a long-time observer of social media trends, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I see the once glamorous Hype House Bus now abandoned and vandalized on the side of the road. It’s a stark reminder of how fleeting popularity can be in this fast-paced digital world.

After disappearing from the limelight, the Hype House bus – once a popular travel companion of TikTok sensations like Addison Rae – has been spotted online in a run-down and abandoned state along a road. This bus was previously used by its famous TikTok owners to produce content, but its current look is far from the excitement it once held.

In 2019, a social media group known as “The Hype House,” made up of influencers such as Addison Rae and Charli D’Amelio, emerged on TikTok. By 2020, they had their own TV show showcasing their lives as content creators residing together in a shared mansion. That year, they also received a customized school bus named “The Hype House Bus,” enabling them to create videos while traveling. However, the Hype House faced several controversies and changes in its members, leading to a decline in popularity. Recently, though, interest in The Hype House Bus has been renewed following a video that revealed its current status.

On August 1st, The Hollywood Fix noticed the abandoned Hype House Bus by the roadside in Los Angeles, California. Once adorned with vibrant artwork and the faces of its popular members, the bus now appears weather-beaten and vandalized, a stark reminder of its forgotten state by its owners. Over time, many things have shifted since the bus first appeared online. Not only has the Hype House fallen out of fashion, but some of its biggest names, such as Charli D’Amelio, no longer reign supreme in the TikTok content creation world.

Hype House Bus Found Abandoned and Damaged on the Road

The customized bus known as the Hype House Bus was presented by renowned YouTuber ZHC to his TikTok companions as a thoughtful gift. He and his team personally designed the exterior details and revamped the interior with additions such as new seats, ring lights, a TV, gaming console, and more. However, currently, the bus appears vacant. In 2023, the original Hype House mansion was listed for sale. Despite TikTok’s challenging year, many of these TikTok stars have managed to thrive financially through the platform. Lately, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) has filed a lawsuit against TikTok, alleging that the app collects data from millions of children.

Previously, TikTok took legal action against the U.S. government due to its efforts to prohibit the app within U.S. territory. In reaction to earlier warnings of a potential ban, TikTok argued that such an action would contradict American principles of free speech. Unfortunately, the platform’s struggles in finding a balance between user privacy and safeguarding minors have resulted in further legal issues.
