A Ubisoft stockholder intends to organize a demonstration outside their Paris headquarters, due to allegations that the company did not reveal discussions about a possible takeover.
According to a report by IGN, AJ Investments, a small shareholder in Ubisoft, has criticized the studio’s leadership for poor management. Moreover, the CEO of AJ Investments, Juraj Krúpa, alleges that Ubisoft did not reveal meetings they had with Electronic Arts (EA) and Microsoft, as well as other interested parties, about the possibility of acquiring Ubisoft’s intellectual properties.
Krúpa asserts that the company failed to clearly convey its strategies or discussions with shareholders, leading to his invitation for those who are dissatisfied with the prolonged plateau in Ubisoft’s stock value and the perceived inaction from the management team, to unite with him in a demonstration scheduled for May.
Krúpa stated that AJ Investments is prepared to initiate a lawsuit against Ubisoft for allegedly misleading investors. However, he also mentioned that they are conscious of the fact that Ubisoft’s management is undergoing a financial assessment of multiple strategic possibilities, which is being guided by Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan.
As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some insights from a recent conversation I had with the team at IGN. They shared that Ubisoft, much like myself, is in the midst of thoughtful deliberation about strategic and financially-sound decisions for their future. This ongoing evaluation process is part of their commitment to delivering exceptional gaming experiences.
To ensure we get the most value out of our assets and brands, the company has created a temporary, impartial committee to manage this open bidding process. This is aimed at maximizing benefits for all involved parties,” the company stated. “Ubisoft will follow relevant regulations and inform the public if a deal becomes reality.
