As a die-hard anime fan with over two decades of fandom under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming Undead Unluck special! I was hooked from the first episode of season 1, and the tantalizing glimpse of what’s to come in this 1-hour special has me on the edge of my seat. The fact that it’s being produced by the same team behind Fire Force and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure only adds fuel to the fire.
On August 1st, it was announced through the official website and social media account (previously known as Twitter) of the Undead Unluck anime series, that they will be releasing a one-hour special during Winter 2025.
A brief sneak peek trailer and striking image were revealed along with the news, showing what seems to be Juiz’s sword stuck in the ground amidst a frozen tundra. It is anticipated that this upcoming special may pave the way for future announcement of sequels in the series.

The special seems to delve into the fight against the UMA named “Winter,” as suggested by the events towards the end of season 1 and references to “loops” in the teaser visual and trailer. This development follows logically from their intense battle against Autumn.

As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly immersed in the captivating world of Undead Unluck since its inaugural season graced our screens from October 2023 to March 2024. This enthralling anime series is an adaptation of Yoshifumi Tozuka’s acclaimed manga, which has been serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since January 2020.
In the first season of “Undead Unluck,” Moe Kahara plays Fūko Izumo, Yūichi Nakamura is cast as Andy, Aoi Yūki portrays Gina, Ayumu Murase takes on the role of Chikara Shigeno, Kōji Yusa is Nico, Mariya Ise acts as Juiz, Natsuki Hanae plays Shen, Nobuhiko Okamoto is Top, Rie Kugimiya voices Tatiana, Rikiya Koyama portrays Billy, Tomokazu Sugita acts as Apocalypse, Yūki Kaji plays Rip, and Yumi Uchiyama takes on the character of Anno Un.
