My playthrough of the game closely mirrored my time with The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered on PS5, as I encountered minimal technical issues. However, the PC version isn’t flawless. I noticed occasional lag at certain action-packed moments that were absent in the PS5 version, but these instances usually occurred during melee attack sequences. These lags didn’t significantly impact gameplay and weren’t common, but they were frequent enough to be noticeable and worthy of mentioning.

To put it simply, the remastered version of The Last of Us Part 2 on PC is essentially the same as its PS5 edition. This means PC players can delve into an immersive, intense, gore-filled narrative of revenge that, despite the controversy, stands out as one of the most impactful stories in gaming. The performances in The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, particularly Ashley Johnson’s portrayal of Ellie and Laura Bailey’s depiction of Abby, are nothing short of remarkable. Although there may be some minor pacing hiccups in the middle, the story grips you tight and doesn’t let go until the end credits play. It’s a heart-wrenching tale that, due to its sensitive nature, is best experienced without knowing too much about it. So if PC gamers have managed to avoid major spoilers up until now, they’re in for a memorable gaming experience.

Titled “The Last of Us Part 2: Enhanced Edition,” this game offers some of the most intense combat sequences found in any video game, featuring graphic violence that feels strikingly authentic. The protagonists, Ellie and Abby, must navigate through swarms of hostile humans and the lethally dangerous infected. A skillful mix of stealth, hand-to-hand combat, and gunfights are integrated into the gameplay, requiring players to gather resources meticulously in order to be prepared for any challenge that comes their way. Now, PC gamers can enjoy this thrilling experience with a mouse and keyboard setup instead of the traditional PlayStation controller.

In the remastered version of “The Last of Us Part 2,” the distinctive capabilities of the DualSense controller significantly enhance the gaming experience. That said, it’s perfectly fine to play the game using a mouse and keyboard setup. Interestingly, aiming with a mouse is quite enjoyable, allowing players to swiftly lock onto enemy heads much more quickly compared to using a controller.

No Return is Back and Bigger Than Ever

In addition to mouse and keyboard support, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered for PC also offers exclusive content within the No Return roguelike mode, which was a significant selling point for the original remastered version on PS5. This mode continues to deliver an engaging and challenging experience on PC. Essentially, players choose characters from the universe of The Last of Us and advance through multiple levels, earning points that can then be used to enhance weapons and gain advantages in future battles. Each death necessitates starting over from the beginning, but successful runs unlock new playable characters and other rewards.

For those not fond of roguelike game modes, The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered’s No Return feature may not win them over. However, it offers enjoyable action and serves as a quick way to engage with the game without delving back into the storyline. The PC version of the game is accompanied by an update for No Return, which introduces beloved characters Bill and Marlene from The Last of Us Part 1. Players must complete new challenges to unlock these characters within the game. Additionally, four new stages have been added, making No Return more content-rich than ever before.
