Among numerous official adventures for Dungeons and Dragons over the past decade, none has garnered as much acclaim among fans as Curse of Strahd. As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Wizards of the Coast is gearing up to unveil a chilling new Dungeons and Dragons novel, titled “Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd“. This gripping horror tale takes us on an epic journey with five intrepid adventurers who find themselves inexplicably transported to the terrifying realm of Barovia.
Shortly after their arrival, our band consists of Fielle the resourceful Human Artificer, Kah the wise Kenku Cleric, Rotrog the cunning Orc Wizard, Alishai the steadfast Tiefling Paladin, and Chivarion the fierce Drow Barbarian. They soon receive a mysterious invitation from none other than Count Strahd von Zarovich himself, inviting them to Castle Ravenloot – a place where they’ll need every ounce of courage and camaraderie if they hope to endure their harrowing stay at this grim fortress.

Let’s dine together at Castle Ravenloft this evening? We don’t get many visitors here, so I’m really excited to meet you. A coach will transport you safely, and I eagerly await your arrival.
Your host,
Strahd von Zarovich
For nearly two decades, there haven’t been any new Dungeons & Dragons books set in the realm of Ravenloft, with the exception being “I, Strahd: The War Against Azalin” from 1998. This novel was not the most recent Ravenloft book, however; that title goes to “Black Crusade” by Ari Marmell, published in 2008. Therefore, “Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd” marks the first Ravenloft novel released in seventeen years, and it’s also the first one starring the vampire lord Count von Zarovich in twenty-seven years.
The upcoming “Dungeons and Dragons” book, titled “Ravenloft: Heir of Strahd”, is scheduled to hit the shelves on May 13th. You can reserve your copy from platforms like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and numerous other booksellers. The hardcover edition costs $30, while the audiobook version goes for $20, or you can opt for the ebook at $15.
