As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but chuckle at the plight of the unfortunate Pokemon Scarlet and Violet player who found themselves stuck between an NPC and a hard place (pun intended). Having navigated countless virtual worlds, from Hyrule to Thedas, I’ve come across my fair share of glitches and bugs – some amusing, others downright infuriating.

As a dedicated Pokémon Scarlet and Violet gamer, I stumbled upon a peculiar situation the other day – my character was caught in a pickle, trapped by an NPC! It was quite amusing, to be honest, and fellow Scarlet and Violet enthusiasts seemed to share my laughter. Fortunately, there’s a way out for this stuck player like me.

The launch of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet faced more issues than any other primary series installment in the franchise’s history, garnering criticism from both fans and critics due to a multitude of bugs that affected performance and occasionally led to areas within the game world disappearing. Despite numerous updates and enhancements, there appear to be lingering problems, such as the one that left this player stuck, as they experienced firsthand.

Reddit user Consistent_Award_559 posted about their predicament in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. In a post named “Help,” they shared a short video of being trapped between a plant, counter, and The Teal Mask NPC Briar. The player is seen attempting to free themselves by wiggling their character, but walking towards the only apparent exit also doesn’t help. During this time, Briar keeps staring fixedly at the player.

Reddit users have found themselves entertained by this particular scene. Some have humorously speculated that Briar has cornered the character in order to discuss Area Zero or Terapagos, with the character seemingly obligated to listen. One user even joked about the character needing to employ a Memory of Grace – an Elden Ring tool that allows players to return to their last visited site of Grace – to escape this situation. Although this incident in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet appears to be a minor bug, there are a couple plausible resolutions to it.

Pokemon Fans Give Advice on Escaping NPC

Players suggested the fan should stop playing their game and then restart it, which would take them back to where they last saved. But if they’ve accidentally saved while stuck in this predicament, there’s an extra option. If the most recent save isn’t helpful, they can go back to the main menu by pressing X + B + Up. This will open a special menu with a backup save function for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, which they can load from instead.

Although we haven’t heard yet if the character successfully got out of their difficult situation, let’s hope they found a solution. Given that they are in downloadable content (DLC) territory, losing everything after making it this far would certainly be disheartening.
