A common theme in this type of fantasy anime is that demons are full of energy, but often lack originality or the ability to think for themselves, frequently depending on inherited powers or established traditions.
I’m really intrigued by this shift in the trials! After seeing the peaceful Harvest Festival in Season 3, where fighting wasn’t allowed, it seems the upcoming Music Festival is taking that idea even further. It’s not going to be about power, but about teamwork and, honestly, creativity! Kerori understands how tough this will be – she knows firsthand how hard it is to perform well. She explained that even professional idols struggle with staying coordinated and focused. Apparently, getting just six people to work together flawlessly is almost impossible, and she’s pretty sure a group of thirteen – like the Abnormal Class – will have an even harder time. As one of the only two students with actual performing arts experience, she’s definitely seen this struggle up close!
Season 4 of Iruma-kun is taking a challenging turn, but things aren’t hopeless. The show, at its core, is a classic action anime about believing in yourself and tackling any obstacle. It emphasizes that simply trying is admirable, regardless of the outcome, and Iruma Suzuki intends to succeed. Soi is a bit of a hidden gem this season, quickly becoming a key player despite appearing only briefly before. He expresses himself by playing the trumpet – and he’s really good at it – which is exactly what the class needs as they prepare for the Music Festival.
Soi used to share his music anonymously as “Pixie,” but he’s now starting to reveal his true self. Iruma and his classmates are gently helping Soi gain confidence and join them as their trumpet player – a big step for this unique group of demons! This is Soi’s opportunity to discover the strength of friendship and grow as a musician, but he’ll do it at his own pace. Along with the talented Kerori, Soi is ready to help their class achieve amazing things, even if they’re a little unprepared – and incredibly excited to try.
