If you’re trying to find the Lunar Fairy Moth in Palia, you’ll need to search at night. These glowing bugs are easiest to spot between 6 pm and 3 am in-game time. You can find them in Pulsewater Plains and Hideaway Bluffs in Bahari Bay, along with Kilima Night Moths.
You can find Lunar Fairy Moths in the same areas as Paper Lantern Bugs – specifically near the Flooded Steps, the Outskirts, and the northern part of Bahari Bay. These glowing blue bugs are easily startled, so it’s a good idea to bring Sticky Smoke Bombs to help you catch them.
Players in Palia can use Honey Lures to attract lots of bugs, including the rare Lunar Fairy Moths, and team up with friends to catch them all. When you catch these bugs, there’s a chance you’ll receive a Lunar Fairy Moth Plushie, which you can display on your personal Housing Plot.
How to Use Lunar Fairy Moth in Palia
Once you’ve caught Lunar Fairy Moths, you can use them to complete several quests. Specifically, you’ll need them for the daily quest “Moth Balls,” Chayne’s Discovery quest “Old Friends,” and Friendship quests involving Elouisa and Subira. These quests all require you to hand in these moths as part of the completion process.
You can give Auni, Elouisa, Jel, and Ulfe a Lunar Fairy Moth each day to become better friends with them. If you find a special, Star-Quality moth, you can display it as furniture on your land or sell it for extra gold.
Similar to the Blushing Butterfly, you can use the Lunar Fairy Moth to craft QualityUp Fertilizer at a Worktable, but you’ll need to learn the recipe first. Catching one also gets you closer to completing two Achievements: the Kilima and Bahari Bug Collector and the Master Kilima and Bahari Bug Collector.
