The Dragon Gate Substitute commission is an early task in Neverness to Everness. You’ll find it in the Bridge Crossings area, on the roof of the Novus Vehicle Dealership building on Torchwood Avenue. Many players initially overlook this commission because the marker appears on the rooftop rather than at street level.

To finish this task, go to the rooftop and enter the glowing area. Defeat the enemies that appear, then interact with the colorful scale to complete it. You’ll be rewarded with Hunter EXP, Annulith, Beetle Coins, Fons, materials to upgrade your gear, and a powerful Rank A Arc called “A Time Will Come.”

Where to Find Dragon Gate Substitute Anomaly Commission

You can find the Dragon Gate Substitute commission by going to the Bridge Crossings area on Torchwood Avenue. Look for the rooftop of the Novus Vehicle Dealership – it sometimes has a “NEW WAY” sign on it. That’s where the commission is located.

Okay, so I learned the hard way – don’t bother running around aimlessly looking for those mission markers! They don’t fully show up unless you’re practically under the rooftop where you need to go. Seriously, get as close as you can! The quickest way to get there is either fast traveling to a nearby ReroRero Phone Booth or warping straight to the Wertheimer Tower waypoint. Trust me, it’ll save you a ton of time.

We then used the game’s parkour abilities to climb onto the building. As you get closer to the roof, the strange area appears, and the mission officially starts.

How to Complete Dragon Gate Substitute

This mission is relatively straightforward, especially when compared to some of the more complex anomalies you’ll encounter later in NTE. Once you enter the designated area, you’ll see several kites floating in the air. Getting close to these kites will cause the Tidal Ascension anomalies to appear.

To continue, you must defeat all three enemies. Fortunately, this is a relatively easy anomaly – a Class Phenomenon – so we were able to handle it without much difficulty.

Moving around during the fight is important, as enemies attack in waves that can slowly damage you if you stay in one place. After defeating all enemies, interact with the rainbow scale that appears on the roof to seal the anomaly and finish the commission.

If the fight does not start immediately, try stepping fully into the glowing anomaly area again.

Dragon Gate Substitute Rewards

Dragon Gate Substitute offers surprisingly good rewards despite being a quick commission. The standout reward is the Rank A Arc, titled “A Time Will Come.”

This Arc boosts your Attack, Defense, and HP if you have at least three different types of Espers on your team.

Completing the commission also rewards the following items:

  • Beetle Coin x3,000
  • Fons x6,000
  • Bronze Carrota x40
  • U-00NE x10
  • Anomaly Material Selection Box I x2
  • Scale Pattern x1

Once you’ve beaten Tidal Ascension and examined the scale, a message will pop up confirming your success. Your journal will instantly update to show the completed commission, and the marker on the map indicating where to go will vanish.
