The Frost Spike is a special item you can earn in Crimson Desert by defeating Beloth the Darksworn, a challenging boss found in the snowy mountains of Hernand. Beloth is a very difficult opponent, and you’ll need good gear and stats to have a chance at winning. If you’re hoping to get the Frost Spike in Crimson Desert, here’s a guide to where to go and what to do.
Crimson Desert Frost Spike Location
You’ll automatically receive the Frost Spike item after defeating Beloth the Darksworn, a powerful boss in the Crimson Desert. You can find Beloth in the Hoenmark Ruins, located on the world map just north of Hernand. However, getting to this boss isn’t straightforward – there are a few challenges you’ll need to overcome.
- The temperature in this part of Hernand is very low, and your Stamina will suffer without cold weather protection.
- The temperature drops to the lowest possible point while you’re fighting Beloth.
- Beloth is extremely strong.
To help with those earlier challenges, get the Kuku Ice-Resistant Armor. This armor piece gives you level 10 Ice Resistance, and upgrading it fully will also give you level 3 Movement Speed. After that, you just need to get 5 more levels of Ice Resistance – the Frostcursed Plate Cloak is a good way to do this – and you’ll be protected from the snowstorm in Beloth’s arena. The Kuku Armor also has strong Defense, which will help you survive Beloth’s attacks.
After that, focus on improving your equipment and using as many Abyss Artifacts on your character as you can. Although the game doesn’t state it directly, your character’s power increases with each Abyss Artifact applied.
The key to defeating Beloth is practice and learning from your mistakes. Instead of trying to win right away, focus on understanding his attack patterns. Each time you lose, think about what happened and use that information in your next attempt. Memorize his moves, figure out which ones you can stop, and keep practicing until you succeed.
What Does Frost Spike Do?
Frost Spike is a weapon attachment that adds a line of ice spikes to your Turning Slash attack (or similar attacks for Damiane and Oongka). These spikes deal a decent amount of damage and fire directly in front of you, working alongside any other attachments that modify Turning Slash. Keep in mind that using Frost Spike will increase the Spirit cost of performing a Turning Slash.
Frost Spike is a great tool for quickly filling up a boss’s stagger meter. Combining it with other Abyss Gear, like Wave of Darkness (obtained by defeating Antumbra’s Sword), makes stunning bosses much easier. A single Turning Slash can often stun a boss when equipped with both, and adding elemental damage to your weapon speeds up the process even further.
