Okay, so I’m really into Where Winds Meet, and let me tell you, the Wolf Maiden is a challenge. She’s a world boss, like the others, and if you don’t get your timing down with those parries, she’ll send you flying back to the respawn point faster than you can blink! But don’t worry, I’ve been figuring out some ways to make the fight a little easier. Before we get into how to beat her, though, you need to know where to find her in the first place!
Where Winds Meet: Wolf Maiden Boss Location
Okay, so I was looking for Wolf Maiden, and I finally found her! She’s way down on the map, at the southeastern corner of the Kaifeng region, just past that big Granary of Plenty area. You’ll see her boss arena marked with a red mask icon, right near the eastern side of Desperation Ridge. Oh, and there’s a Boundary Stone nearby – definitely hit that first, you’re going to need it to help with the fight!
Wolf Maiden is only visible at night. If you visit her location during the day, you won’t find her. You can either wait until nighttime, or change the in-game time in Where Winds Meet. Simply set the clock to 7 PM (19:00) or later to make her appear.
How to Beat Wolf Maiden in Where Winds Meet
To defeat the Wolf Maiden in Where Winds Meet, you’ll first need to learn her attack patterns, just like with other bosses in the game. While her attacks are generally predictable, she does have some fast moves that can be tricky to dodge.
We highly recommend bringing an AI companion to help with the battle. While any companion will do, keeping them alive is especially useful when fighting Wolf Maiden. A good strategy is to use the Stormbreaker Spear to draw the boss’s attention, protecting your companion.
During tough boss fights like this one, it’s best to save your most powerful attacks and long combos for when the boss is vulnerable – when their stance is broken. Otherwise, stick to quick attacks between the boss’s own attacks, and focus on blocking or deflecting until they run out of energy. Once they’re vulnerable, unleash everything you’ve got and finish them off with a final move. Keep repeating this strategy until you win!
You can deal significant Qi damage to the Wolf Maiden, especially during her lengthy, nine-hit attack sequence. Once you learn the timing, it’s relatively easy to parry. If you also watch out for the final, delayed hit, you can deplete her stamina considerably without getting hurt. She uses this attack quite frequently.
You can block most of the Wolf Maiden’s attacks unless they have a golden glow. This also applies to the slower attacks she uses in her second phase – you can deflect those too.
Wolf Maiden Boss Fight Tips
- Spend some time learning her moves first. Fight her a few times without attacking or using healing items.
- Yuan Jin’gang is a great companion to have for this fight since he can constantly interrupt Wolf Maiden’s attacks from a distance.
- Make sure your equipment is fully upgraded before attempting world bosses.
- The Infernal Twinblades’ skills are good at staggering Wolf Maiden.
- Use the Elite Practice feature if you want to try fighting Wolf Maiden without burning resources.
- Don’t rush when she enters her second phase. You’ll want to be more aggressive to stop her Qi from recovering, but don’t be reckless.
- Wolf Maiden’s weapons will flash when she’s about to launch an attack. Use that to time your parries.
