Summary
- Boruto underwent a time-skip, training with Sasuke and facing Code & Hidari.
- Konoha is against Boruto due to Eida’s Omnipotence ability altering memories.
- People call Boruto an Otsutsuki because they forget he’s actually an Uzumaki.
Upon Boruto’s return after a prolonged absence, the narrative unfolded in “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” which marked the second chapter of the story. Many enthusiasts found themselves perplexed due to the numerous alterations that had taken place post the time leap.
It’s peculiar yet confirmed at the end of “Boruto: Naruto’s Next Generations” that nearly everyone appears to dislike Boruto. I’m curious about the series of events leading to this significant shift in public opinion.
What Happened To Boruto During The Time-Skip?
In much the same way as Naruto has Shippuden as a separate segment within its narrative, Boruto splits into two distinct parts: Boruto: Naruto’s Next Generations (the first part prior to the time-skip) and Boruto: Two Blue Vortex (the second part following the time-skip). While in the anime adaptation of Naruto, Shippuden serves as a division, in the original manga, it continues under the title Naruto even after the time-skip.
Boruto, accompanied by Sasuke, abandoned Konoha for years, using this time to absorb all the knowledge and skills that Sasuke had to offer. Unfortunately, they were eventually trapped by Code and his associates, the Claw Grimes. The climax of this confrontation led to an extraordinary transformation: Sasuke metamorphosed into Hidari, a formidable Divine Tree among the humanoid Divine Trees in the narrative thus far.
In time, Boruto forms an unanticipated partnership and begins training under Koji Kashin, a unique individual gifted with foresight, or as some call it, Prescience (Ten Directions). Koji expresses his intention to guide Boruto away from the bleakest outcomes he has foreseen.
Why Is Everyone Against Boruto In Konoha?
In the anime “Two Blue Vortex,” it turns out that Konoha opposing Boruto stems from a new power presented in “Next Generations” – a power called Omnipotence. This ability is wielded by Eida (also known as Ada), who acquired it due to her genetic lineage from Shibai Otsutsuki, following alterations made to her DNA by Amado.
Because she doesn’t belong to the Otsutsuki clan, it seems she lacks the ability to deliberately manipulate this power. The Otsutsuki are known for possessing an extraordinary shinjutsu, which is believed to be the most potent among all. This unique ability enables its user to influence other people’s perceptions, effectively making their desires a reality. It operates similarly to genjutsu (illusionary jutsu), but on a significantly grander scale.
Initially, Eida employs her enchanting power unconsciously, captivating those nearby while searching for genuine affection herself. Later, she manipulates everyone’s recollections globally (apparently everyone on Earth), causing Kawaki and Boruto to exchange their identities. Consequently, the populace believes that Kawaki is Naruto’s biological offspring, whereas Boruto is considered his adopted son. This alteration occurred because Eida sought to please Kawaki, unaware of the consequences of her actions.
Essentially, due to a misunderstanding, people believe that Boruto is responsible for Naruto’s disappearance, as if he had killed him. However, according to the last chapters of “Next Generations,” it was actually Kawaki who confined Naruto and Hinata in another dimension with the intention of eliminating Boruto, who was being manipulated by Momoshiki Otsutsuki at that time.
Despite what their memories might suggest, certain characters such as Amado have become aware of some discrepancy in their circumstances. On the other hand, Boruto appears unwilling to instigate changes at this moment, believing that his current approach is the most effective means for safeguarding Kawaki.
Is Boruto An Otsutsuki, And Why Is He Called That?
In the final episode of Next Generations, Momoshiki revived Boruto using Karma extraction. Later, he declared that Boruto was now a complete member of the Otsutsuki clan. However, this is not why fans have started referring to him as “Boruto Otsutsuki” in Two Blue Vortex. Instead, it’s due to some other events or developments that occurred during the storyline.
Why don’t you do one good thing for the world instead of wasting your life?
People often refer to Boruto as an “Otsutsuki,” but they may have forgotten that he belongs to the Uzumaki clan, which branched out from Kaguya Otsutsuki’s lineage. Unlike Boruto, Kawaki was initially brought up by Kara with the intention of serving as a host for Isshiki Otsutsuki.
