However, throughout its history, the most dependable method for characters to regain their health points outside of battle has been by consuming food – particularly since the removal of the First Aid secondary profession in Battle for Azeroth.
Instead of food, World of Warcraft is introducing a new self-healing method called Recuperate in Patch 11.1.7. This general spell will be available to all classes, enabling casters to heal for 150% of their maximum health points over 30 seconds while not engaged in combat. For over 14 years, each class in the game has possessed a distinctive skill for restoring health and resources, like the Sith Inquisitor’s Seethe or the Jedi Consular’s Meditation. These abilities come with unique animations, and can be further customized through specific racial traits or collectible items. A concept similar to this could potentially be adopted by “World of Warcraft”, mirroring its future cosmetic Hearthstone toys in terms of implementation.
Currently, the tooltip for Recuperate on the Public Test Realm seems to be misleading. Instead of channeling for 30 seconds and healing 50% of a character’s health throughout, the spell actually channels for only 10 seconds while gradually healing 50% of their health over this period. To recover more, players will need to recast it again in future builds of the PTR, which should be corrected before the patch goes live in the next few months.
