Five games are leaving Xbox Game Pass today, January 15th. Among them is Neon White, a highly-rated game from 2022 that’s been available on the service since 2024.
Neon White is a fast-paced action game built around the idea of speedrunning. Players take on the role of Neons – sinners given a chance to earn salvation by eliminating demons. As you race through each level, you collect Soul Cards which can be used as weapons or discarded to gain special movement abilities like a grapple hook, dash, or extra jump. The game’s simple core concept is cleverly expanded upon by developer Angel Matrix, creating increasingly challenging levels designed to be completed as quickly as possible. This unique approach has been widely praised, earning Neon White an impressive average score of 89 on OpenCritic and establishing it as one of the best games of 2022.
Neon White and 4 Other Titles Leaving Xbox Game Pass Today
The popular action platformer is leaving Xbox Game Pass today, January 15th, after being available for about 18 months – it was added to the service back in July 2024. It’s one of five games leaving mid-January 2026, along with Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, Road 96, The Ascent, and The Grinch: Christmas Adventures.
All Xbox Game Pass Games Leaving January 15, 2026
| Game | Added | OpenCritic | How Long To Beat |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn | Jul 2024 | 69 | 9–21 hours |
| Neon White | Jul 2024 | 89 | 10–25 hours |
| Road 96 | Jan 2025 | 78 | 8–10 hours |
| The Ascent | Jul 2025 | 73 | 12–26 hours |
| The Grinch: Christmas Adventures | Oct 2025 | 60 | 4–6 hours |
So, I noticed a couple of games are leaving Xbox Game Pass soon. The Grinch: Christmas Adventures just came to the service in October 2025, and honestly, three months seems kinda short. But it makes sense, you know? It’s a family-friendly, seasonal game. The shortest time a game is leaving is actually The Ascent, a cyberpunk RPG I really enjoyed. It’s only been on Game Pass for six months, since July 2025, which is a bummer because it’s awesome, especially if you play co-op. The world is super immersive too!
Following Neon White, Road 96 is the next most highly-rated game leaving Xbox Game Pass. This first-person adventure from Digixart puts you on a unique road trip through a country controlled by a strict government. Your decisions matter, impacting the lives of the characters you meet and even the future of the nation. Road 96 was one of the first games added to Game Pass in 2025, celebrating its first anniversary on the service on January 7th. It’s one of the shorter games leaving today, along with The Grinch: Christmas Adventures, but still takes around eight hours to complete, according to player data.
Xbox Game Pass Lost as Many Titles as it Added in the First Half of January 2026
Xbox Game Pass added the game My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery today, making it the fifth addition this month. However, upcoming game removals are expected to balance out all the games added to the service since the start of January 2026. It’s still unclear whether Game Pass will end the month with more or fewer games overall, and we’ll likely know more in the coming days. Microsoft plans to announce the January 31st removals around January 20th as part of its second wave of updates. Sometimes, the Xbox app reveals these removals early, but this information isn’t always accurate, with occasional incorrect or premature notices.
