As a seasoned researcher with a penchant for the intricacies of the crypto market and a knack for unraveling truth from deception, I find myself intrigued by this latest development involving Bitwise and an XRP ETF.
According to a report by Eleanor Terrett from Fox Business, Bitwise – a prominent player in the cryptocurrency sector – has submitted an application for an Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) based on XRP, within the state of Delaware.
Currently, Bitwise has not officially confirmed any plans to launch an XRP Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF). The Fox Business reporter hinted that more information will be shared soon, urging everyone to stay informed.
Some people are viewing the recent filing with skepticism, as it was discovered that last November, a fake BackRock XRP ETF filing was published on the website for Delaware’s Division of Corporations by scammers. Their intention was to deceptively inflate the price of XRP. The matter has since been reported to the Delaware Department of Justice.
It’s not too unlikely that Bitwise could suggest an XRP ETF, as per U.Today’s report, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has hinted at its inevitability in the past.
Although established financial giants such as BlackRock are hesitant to involve themselves with XRP, certain cryptocurrency-focused companies may consider venturing into innovative Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).
Last month, Grayscale, the leading asset manager, relaunched its XRP trust. Some analysts believe that this could set the stage for the introduction of an XRP ETF.
