In the coming times, Ripple is expected to emphasize on asset tokenization and interoperability services for banking institutions. This prediction was made by Austin King, the founder of Omni Network, who sold his startup to Ripple back in 2019. After the sale, King worked at Ripple from 2019 until 2021.

Ripple has been actively purchasing companies, with an estimated total cost exceeding a quarter-billion dollars. This move raises questions about the future direction for XRP. As one of the original creators who sold their company to Ripple, here is my interpretation of their long-term plan:

In the previous year, Ripple made an investment exceeding $250 million as part of its buyout approach. Specifically, they purchased Metaco and Standard Custody with the intention of incorporating these companies into their Ripple Custody service offerings.

Furthermore, Ripple unveiled the primary network version of their NYDFS-regulated stablecoin, Ripple USD (XRUSD), which is tied to the U.S. Dollar. This asset represents a significant achievement in tokenization for Ripple, as emphasized by Austin King.

In simpler terms, these two operations are expected to strengthen one another since Ripple is probably going to focus on asset tokenization within the XRP Ledger. By doing so, it stands to gain from both the fees associated with tokenization and those related to transactions.

As an analyst, I’d like to bring attention to the fact that a comparable approach has been successfully implemented by Ripple through their business-to-business “On-Demand Liquidity Solutions.” The XRP Ledger and its primary asset, XRP, were strategically integrated into their cross-border remittance services infrastructure.
