XRP Ledger ready to adopt tokenized gold, silver in Q3, 2024

According to the official announcement from X, Meld Gold has formed a collaboration with Ripple, a fintech firm based in San Francisco. Through this partnership, Meld Gold intends to introduce two new stablecoins, backed by silver and gold respectively, on the XRP Ledger. As stated in their Medium post, each token represents the ownership of one gram of the respective precious metal stored securely by leading custody providers MKS Pamp and Imperial Vaults. These tokens are scheduled to debut on the XRP Ledger in Q3, 2024. Meld Gold’s CEO, Michael Cotton, emphasized the significance of this launch, commenting “By integrating XRPL as the second blockchain alongside Algorand, we are moving closer to providing unrivaled access to assets such as gold and silver through leading technologies.”
