IO Interactive has released the updated PC system requirements for their upcoming game, 007 First Light. The developers have confirmed that players can enjoy the game at 1440p and 4K resolutions with smooth performance without needing to use upscaling technologies.
Everyone is excited for the upcoming game, 007 First Light, which is set to release on May 27th for most gaming systems. However, the version for Nintendo’s new Switch 2 console will be available later, as IO Interactive needs more time to finish developing it.
007 First Light Unveils Updated PC Spec Requirements
IO Interactive recently shared the PC system requirements for their upcoming game, 007 First Light. They’ve now expanded on those initial specs, detailing what you’ll need to play at higher resolutions – 1440p and 4K. In addition to the previously announced Minimum and Recommended requirements, they’ve added Enthusiast and Ultra presets. These higher settings will demand powerful hardware, but should allow for smooth gameplay at 60 FPS or better. A six-core processor like the AMD Ryzen 5 7600 should be enough for Medium to High settings, though the cost of a suitable graphics card can vary.
| Minimum | Recommended | Enthusiast | Ultra | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Performance | 1080p at 30 FPS | 1080p at 60 FPS | 1440p at 60 FPS | 4K at 60 FPS | 4K at 200+ FPS (DLSS 4.5) |
| Settings Preset | Low | Medium | High | Ultra | |
| CPU | Intel Core i5-9500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600 | Intel Core i5-13500 / AMD Ryzen 5 7600 | Intel Core i5-13600K / AMD Ryzen 5 7700X | ||
| RAM | 16GB | 16 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB | 32 GB |
| GPU | Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 / AMD Radeon RX 5700 | Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT | Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 / AMD Radeon 7800 XT | Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 / AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX | Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 |
| VRAM (Minimum) | 8 GB | 8 GB | 12 GB | 16 GB | 16 GB |
| Storage | 80 GB Minimum / SSD Required | ||||
| OS | Windows 10 / Windows 11 (64-Bit) | ||||
So, I’m looking at what kind of graphics card I need to run 007 First Light smoothly. Apparently, to hit 1440p at 60 frames per second, something like an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 should do the trick – I’ve seen refurbished ones going for around $500 on Amazon right now. The developers, IO Interactive, said their PC specs – Minimum, Recommended, and Enthusiast – don’t factor in upscaling. But if you want to max out the settings with the Ultra preset, you’ll definitely need Nvidia DLSS 4.5. Now, Nvidia pretty much dominates the GPU market, but good news for AMD users: you can still play at 4K! You’ll need a card with at least 16 GB of video memory, and either the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX or the Radeon RX 9070 XT should handle it perfectly.
007 First Light Won’t Have All Its Features At Launch
While the game 007 First Light will have many features at launch, some graphical options won’t be ready right away. IO Interactive announced that Nvidia’s RTX Path Tracing and DLSS Ray Reconstruction will be added in an update planned for summer 2026. Players will be able to enjoy other features, like an unlimited frame rate, customizable controls, and various audio settings, when the game first releases.
