11 Bit Studios Plans to Reimagine This War of Mine

Earnings calls are always a big deal for gamers, as companies frequently share important information during these reports – like details about future games, when they might be released, and sometimes even completely new game announcements.

This held true for 11 Bit Studios’ recent report. The Polish game developer highlighted its strong financial position and announced it’s currently working on four major projects.

A Mix of Old and New

The report indicates the studio is currently in a healthy and stable financial position. Sales figures show that The Alters has sold 545,000 copies, and Frostpunk 2 has sold around 880,000 copies.

That seems like a great outcome, and the studio’s leaders agree that both games have been very successful. CEO Przemysław Marszał explained that The Alters proved they can create popular, worldwide brands, and they’re continuing to develop Frostpunk as a long-lasting series.

In addition to the sales data, the report revealed that the studio is working on four games. Two are completely original games that haven’t been publicly revealed yet. The other two are based on existing game series, but appear to be more ambitious than just typical sequels.

We’re working on two new games. The first is a brand new Frostpunk title, currently called Frostpunk 1886, which will explore the Frostpunk world in a different style of gameplay. The second, and a bit of a surprise, is Project P15 – a completely reworked version of the well-loved game This War of Mine.

P15 isn’t just a simple update of the original game; it’s being completely rebuilt. According to Marszał, this project, along with Frostpunk 1886, is a fresh, modern reimagining of 11 Bit Studios’ most popular titles. It’s designed to be supported and enjoyed by the community for many years to come.

As a fan, it looks like P15 isn’t just a simple polish of the original game – it seems like they’re completely rebuilding the whole survival experience from the ground up! It’s not just a remaster, it’s a total reconstruction.

Creative Director Michał Drozdowski explained that their approach is about building on what they already do, letting them push creative limits. They aim for each game to be artistically distinct, emotionally resonant, and deliver the memorable experience players expect.
