Among the reasons Square Enix chose to release the “Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake” first is that it’s the oldest game in the series, following the chronology. The original “Dragon Quest” trilogy revolves around the hero Erdrick, and players can now enjoy his story with Square Enix’s stunning HD-2D art style. Notably, a native version of “Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake” is also planned for Nintendo Switch 2.
Square Enix announced during Dragon Quest Day festivities that the remastered version of Dragon Quest 1 & 2, known as the Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, is indeed headed for the Nintendo Switch 2.
