The early access version of the game currently features seven maps in the Far Far West, with an eighth map planned before the full 1.0 release. Initially, four of these maps will be locked. To unlock them, you’ll need to complete challenges in the other areas of the game. This guide will walk you through exactly what you need to do to gain access to those locked Far Far West maps.
All Far Far West Maps
| Map | Description |
|---|---|
| Desert | A relatively flat map full of coarse sand and a few waterways. |
| Canyon | A nighttime map set in a large canyon with lots of steep cliffs and deep falls. |
| Far West | This map shares similar design elements to Desert, except it has more rock spires, hills, and signs of civilization. |
| Area 41 | A wasteland full of radioactive waste, crevices, and radar dish installations meant observing outer space. |
| Far Far North | A large, snowy map with frozen lakes, a huge mountain in the middle, and an active train rolling along a railway. |
| Woodlands | Features grassy fields, dense forest areas, and a Marauder-controlled tunnel system in the middle. |
| Jungle | A lush rainforest packed with trees, waterways, and stone structures from some ancient civilization |
As of writing, the Hellfire map in Far Far West is yet to be added to the game.
How to Unlock the Woodlands Map in Far Far West
In Far Far West, The Woodlands is one of the first areas players can unlock. To reach it, you’ll first need to finish Willy Billy’s questline in the Canyon. This involves visiting Willy Billy at his home and completing three quests for him.
- Lost Tools: Gather three tools that Willy Billy lost in the Canyons map.
- The Precious Engine: Find a lost engine using Willy Billy’s special shovel.
- Pimp my Gatling: Escort and protect Willy Billy as he tries to repair his gatling gun.
The “Lost Tools” and “Pimp my Gatling” quests are simple to complete. Just follow the on-screen marker that shows you where to go, and then interact with the objects or finish the tasks it indicates.
I suggest completing all the map unlock quests in Far Far West on Easy mode. If you don’t, you’ll want to team up with a friend and make sure you have the best gear available.
Far Far West Precious Engine Quest (How to Use Willy Billy’s Shovel)
The Precious Engine quest is a little trickier than the others. You’ll need to get Willy Billy’s shovel and use the tracker on it to find the missing engine. The tracker shows how close you are – keep moving until it reads 1 meter. Then, look down and start digging until you uncover the old engine.
Once you complete all three quests, you’ll unlock the Woodlands map and the Billy Willy skin.
To finish a quest, you must defeat the boss in a mission and then escape on the train. You can only work on one quest at a time per mission.
How to Unlock Area 41 in Far Far West
To get this map, head to the Desert and finish the two quests in Dr. Spark-Twist’s questline.
- Fighting Spy: Defeat Marauders and collect intel from them.
- Mass Surveillance: Intercept Marauder communications by activating an antenna.
The Fighting Spy quest involves visiting Marauder camps to gather information. Travel to the camp indicated by the quest, defeat enemies until one drops a specific item, and then collect it. Repeat this process at another camp to finish the quest.
To finish the Mass Surveillance quest, head to a Marauder camp and turn on the antenna you find there. You’ll see a console with four number pads and a green button under each one. Listen for Dr. Spark-Twist to give you the code, and then enter it into the console. Finally, defend against the incoming Marauders to finish the quest – be prepared for a fight and remember your shooting skills in Far Far West!
Completing both of these quests will unlock the Area 41 map and the Dr. Spark-Twist skin.

How to Unlock Far Far North in Far Far West
Unlocking the Far Far North area requires a slightly different process than the previous ones. Instead of following a standard questline, you’ll need to find and complete special “trainwreck” events on the Canyon, Far West, and Area 41 maps. You can find where these events are located in the gallery above.
To get data from trainwreck sites, simply stand on a green circle near the wrecked train and hold a data pad to start the download. First, talk to the Railroad Worker by the train to begin the encounter. Be prepared to fight off enemies! We suggest playing on Easy mode and equipping either the Mino or Pistolero spell for an easier time. Remember, the data won’t download unless you’re actually holding the data pad.
How to Unlock the Jungle in Far Far West
To open the Far Far West map, you first need to finish all of Trackman’s quests in the Far Far North. These quests are a bit more challenging than the ones you’ve completed so far, and there are three of them.
- The North Mirrors: Find mirrors and realign them to find old mailbags.
- The Frozen Snowmen: Shatter some frozen snowmen to find delivery routes.
- The Incomplete Logbook: Follow a trail of clues to find a missing logbook page.
The North Mirrors
To complete this quest, you’ll need to adjust a series of mirrors to locate some lost mailbags. Start with the first mirror Trackman shows you and use the buttons nearby to direct the light beam towards the next mirror – look for a flashing light in the distance to find it. After aligning each mirror, move to the one you just aimed at and repeat the process until the quest is finished.
The Frozen Snowmen
This challenge asks you to destroy frozen snowmen scattered around the Far Far North map. You’ll find them near the frozen lakes. To break the ice surrounding each snowman, skate across the frozen lake and collide with it – you’ll need some speed to shatter the ice!
The Incomplete Logbook
Your task is to find a hidden clue near Trackman within the station. This first clue will lead you to several other clues scattered around the map.
To solve the first puzzle, you need to find 12 picture pieces hidden around the station and place them on the wooden board near the wall. Once you’ve collected them all, arrange them until they create a complete image – you’ll know they’re in the right order when the lines between the pieces vanish. Once the image is complete, take the puzzle to begin an Easter egg hunt, where you’ll find more clues hidden in various spots. The images below show where to find each clue.
Hunter’s House
Rock Clue
Cave 1 Clue
Starting from where you found the rock clue, go northeast towards the cave opening near the frozen river. Once inside, walk through the tunnel until you spot the next clue on a sign.
Bridge Clue
Cave 2 Clue
The entrance to the cave in the picture you’re holding is slightly past the frozen river.
