Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has finally made major progress in regards to the character of Sarada Uchiha, just as fans wanted. Being one of the main characters, fans always wanted Sarada to get more focus in the story and stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki, who usually get the vast majority of attention. Although Sarada’s treatment in the original series wasn’t all that good, it seems that the authors have finally decided to take a step in the right direction with her.

Sarada Uchiha was seen finally tapping into the power of the Mangekyo Sharingan in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series, long after she awakened the power for the first time. While not all her capabilities are known yet, fans can clearly see that she’s immensely powerful, and that this is just the beginning of things for her character. Sarada can finally stand on the same level as the other powerful ninjas of the world now, and potentially even head into combat against the likes of the Shinju with the possibility of winning.

How Sarada Awakened Her Mangekyo Sharingan

  • Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan Awakening Came Following Trouble For Boruto And Naruto
  • Sarada Didn’t Use The Powers Until Two Blue Vortex

Fans of the Boruto series should be very well of the fact that Sarada was already destined to get the Mangekyo Sharingan. Being the sole inheritor of the Sharingan, it goes without saying that Sarada was destined to awaken this power at some point in her life. This is even more so the case because Sarada is one of the main characters in the Boruto series, and at the same time, a character who aims to become the Hokage. With the powers of the Sharingan alone, there was absolutely no way that Sarada could’ve accomplished her goals and stood out as a main character. That is precisely why fans always knew that Sarada would eventually go on to tap into the powers of the Mangekyo Sharingan. The main question was when Sarada was going to utilize this ability.

Papa, please save Boruto. At this rate, he going to die! — Sarada Uchiha

Finally, fans saw Sarada Uchiha awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan towards the end of the first half of the Boruto series. After Kawaki injured Boruto Uzumaki and the Omnipotence switch happened, Sarada knew that things didn’t feel right. However, this wasn’t before Sarada Uchiha was told that Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, was now dead. Of course, the trauma stemming from hearing about Naruto’s death must’ve been massive, but it clearly wasn’t all. It was also announced that Boruto Uzumaki was to be killed for the murder of the Seventh Hokage, especially because of the Omnipotence.

Sarada realized the danger she faced was genuine, and these circumstances brought about a deep feeling of sadness within her. Eventually, the Mangekyo Sharingan activated in her, though at that moment, she didn’t know she had such power. Sasuke was the first and only one to witness this remarkable ability manifesting in her, and its effect on him was so powerful that even with his mind controlled by Omnipotence, he chose to trust his daughter over his own recollections.

Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan Reawakening

Sarada Uchiha Reawakened Her Mangekyo Sharingan In The Land Of Wind

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex saw the main characters return from a three-year timeskip and undoubtedly, all of them would’ve grown far stronger in this time. Boruto returned from the timeskip as a monstrously powerful ninja, as did Kawaki, and even Mitsuki was immensely powerful with his Sage Transformation. However, Sarada Uchiha, although impressive, was clearly lagging behind. Fans were largely displeased with what Ikemoto and Kishimoto delivered in regards to her, and demanded that she be given bigger roles to play. That is precisely what happened as the Land of Wind arc began.

There, Sarada Uchiha had to take on a Shinju, Ryu, alongside her comrades in Mitsuki, Yodo, and Araya, and the goal was to get his Thorn Soul Bulb in order to save Shinki.

It’s okay to use that strength for yourself! — Yodo to Sarada

Sarada clearly struggled in the fight at first, and fans saw her hit her limit, especially when even strong attacks, such as Chidori, proved to not be enough to take Ryu down. However, after Mitsuki, Araya, and Yodo all fell, Sarada was forced to push herself beyond all limits. It was Yodo in particular who reached out to Sarada and told her to not run from the truth that she knows deep down. Yodo asked Sarada to not lie to herself and that it’s okay to use her power for herself, that she doesn’t have to keep it hidden, and that is precisely when Sarada ended up reawakening the Mangekyo Sharingan for the first time in the post-timeskip of Boruto.

This time around, Sarada Uchiha seems fully cognizant of the strength she possesses, indicating that she’s ascended to a higher level as a ninja, undeniably standing out from the crowd. Her followers also caught a sneak peek into Sarada employing the power of her Mangekyo Sharingan, and while the specific capabilities are yet to be revealed, it’s evident that she showcased remarkable abilities indeed.

The Powers Of Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan

Sarada Can Use The Power Of Black Holes

Sarada Uchiha’s Mangekyo Sharingan hasn’t been fully revealed just yet, and fans know that it is most definitely going to be incredibly overpowered. But, fans have most definitely seen bits and pieces from it already. Most importantly, Sarada Uchiha’s Mangekyo Sharingan has the power to rip on black holes by tearing through the fabric of space-time. When Ryu was controlling Sarada with his Iron Sand, Sarada used her Mangekyo Sharingan to open a black hole to suck in all the Iron Sand and the gravity of the black hole was so strong that the Iron Sand couldn’t sustain it. Of course, Sarada most definitely has another ability, and on top of that, a Susanoo too, which all goes to say that Ryu has already lost the battle. Even though he’s very powerful, he’s not going to prevail over Sarada Uchiha after her newly reawakened Mangekyo Sharingan, the main abilities of which remain to be seen still.

In many ways, Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan is very similar to Obito’s, who had the power of Kamui. It seems that instead of a different dimension, Sarada can utilize Black Holes, and whereas Obito’s ability was more of a transportation one, Sarada’s seems to be along the lines of infinite gravity, which is what makes it extremely exciting. The next few chapters of Boro will be fascinating as they will explore Sarada’s Mangekyo Sharingan to the fullest.

Boruto is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus app. The release date for the next chapter of Boruto, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 19, is set to be February 18, 2025.
