Xbox’s One-Handed ‘Adaptive Joystick’ Controller is Now Available For $29.99

Microsoft, the company behind Xbox, has unveiled a specially designed one-handed adaptive joystick controller tailored for gamers with restricted mobility.

Introduced back in August 2024 for a cost of $29.99 or £24.99, this adaptive controller has been specifically designed for gamers who struggle with traditional controllers featuring two analog sticks.

Enhance your gaming journey using the customizable, wired Xbox Adaptive Joystick – a perfect match for the Xbox Adaptive Controller and additional Xbox gamepads (available separately). Crafted with players who have limited mobility in mind, this Xbox Adaptive Joystick aims to make gaming more inclusive, tailoring your playstyle.

At the Microsoft Ability Summit, Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Vice President and Chief Accessibility Officer at Xbox, stated that since there are over 429 million gamers with disabilities globally, it’s clear that each player has distinct needs and personal preferences regarding their gaming experience.

She went on to say, “The Xbox Adaptive Controller is a single, wired device specifically crafted for gamers with restricted mobility. It’s adaptable, making it easy for these players to use it alongside their current gaming equipment.

The Xbox Adaptive Controller is available now.
