Elden Ring Nightreign kicks off big boy season with its first souped-up Everdark Sovereign boss, but not everyone loves their limited availability: “Not permanent? Are we for f****ng real?”

In the world of Elden Ring Nightreign, it’s clear that the era for stronger characters has arrived, as the first enhanced Nightlord has made its debut. This means players can now face off against an even tougher variant of Gaping Jaw. But, this opportunity won’t last forever, as it’s only available for a limited period.

Previously this month, developer FromSoftware announced that they would be introducing more powerful iterations of the Nightlords into their upcoming co-op action RPG. The first of these enhanced enemies, known as Everdark Sovereigns, has unexpectedly appeared. According to a post from publisher Bandai Namco, Adel, Baron of the Night (from the Gaping Jaw expedition), is currently leading the charge for players who have already defeated the initial boss in this new version.

Bandai Namco alerts players that the Everdark Sovereigns are incredibly tough adversaries, presenting an even more significant danger to the Nightfarers due to their updated maneuvers and enhanced strength. However, the upside is that vanquishing them will grant you Sovereign Sigils, which can then be swapped for unique Relics and other prizes. Additionally, it’s been discovered that the ability to call Shifting Earth events at will becomes accessible following the defeat of this new boss.

Unfortunately, some people might not be happy about this – the fights are only temporary and will vanish after June 26 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET (June 27 at 2am GMT). This means you have just a week left to conquer Adel, Baron of the Night’s battle before it gets replaced. The Sentient Pest and Darkdrift Knight Nightlords are already lined up for the event, followed by the Tricephalos, Augur, Fissure in the Fog, and Equilibrious Beast at a later date.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but express my bewilderment: “Is this temporary, you ask? It just seems too hard to believe!” Another fan voices their dismay: “Why are they creating scarcity in Elden Ring? That doesn’t seem like the right approach at all.

1. Option A: They concur, “I dislike the fear-of-missing-out part.”

2. Option B: In a similar vein, they echo, “I’m not a fan of the FOMO factor.”

3. Option C: They agree, “I don’t enjoy the anxiety that comes with missing out.”

4. Option D: Similarly, they concur, “The fear of missing out isn’t my cup of tea.”

A. Option A: They concur, “Gaping Jaw isn’t challenging, but it feels unfair to lock special rewards behind a limited-time mode currency.”

B. Option B: In agreement, they say, “Locking special rewards behind an LTM and using unique currency feels like a cheap trick.”

C. Option C: They echo the sentiment, “It’s frustrating that special rewards are locked behind a limited-time mode currency.”

D. Option D: Similarly, they concur, “The current system for unlocking special rewards through an LTM and unique currency feels manipulative.”

Lastly,

5. Option A: They agree, “What I loved about Nightreign was the freedom to play whenever I wanted, and that seems to have been taken away now.”

6. Option B: Similarly, they concur, “The spontaneous play aspect of Nightreign that I appreciated is no longer there.”

7. Option C: They echo, “I loved the flexibility to play whenever I wanted in Nightreign, and that seems to have been removed now.”

8. Option D: In agreement, they say, “The freedom to play at will was one of my favorite aspects of Nightreign, but it appears to be gone now.”

The positive aspect is that Bandai Namco has hinted at the possibility that defeated bosses won’t be permanently gone from the game once their allocated time ends. The publisher suggests that “the Sovereign will vanish from the available Expeditions… for now,” which implies a recurring or rotating system, although the exact duration before a specific boss reappears is unclear. This could potentially lead to some frustration if you fail to defeat a boss during its initial appearance or miss it altogether.
