A devoted Pokemon enthusiast has recently conceived a novel Paradox form for Heliolisk, presenting an original and creative makeover for the lizard-like being. The idea of Paradox forms initially emerged in Generation 9 as either ancestral or future iterations of common creatures, and the practice of redesigning monsters using this concept has gained traction among artists within the Pokemon community in recent times.
In the sixth generation of Pokemon games, Heliolisk was first introduced – this is an Electric/Normal type creature. To get hold of Heliolisk in Pokemon X and Y, players must evolve a Helioptile using a Sun Stone after catching it either on Route 9 or Friend Safari. Heliolisk can be a strong choice for trainers because it has access to potent Electric-type moves like Thunderbolt, Electrify, and Thunder.
Currently, an artist who is passionate about Pokemon, known as DefeatedPanda, has unveiled their newest creation – a futuristic version of Heliolisk called Iron Rod in a concept called Paradox form. This Electric/Fire-type creature exhibits a robotic resemblance to Heliolisk, featuring a metallic body, a solar panel disk on its extended neck, and a spherical head. The artist explains that this Paradox Pokemon harnesses energy from the sun using the disk on its neck during sunny days, while it discharges electricity through its neck as a thunder rod during storms, thus explaining its dual type.
Pokemon Fan’s Future Paradox Form for Heliolisk
It’s interesting to note that fans have attempted to design an Electric-Type future Paradox form for Heliolisk before, with one fan creating Iron Frill in 2023. This Pokemon concept shares the idea of transforming Heliolisk into a robot, but it has a more reptilian head and a unique neck panel compared to DefeatedPanda’s design.
Another enthusiast of Pokemon developed a Mega evolution for Heliolisk too. In this evolved state, the reptilian Pokemon transforms into a quadrupedal form and acquires an extra layer of red color in addition to its regular black, yellow, and orange hues, while also growing additional spikes on its body.
DefeatedPanda’s artwork demonstrates that despite Pokémon Scarlet and Violet from Gen 9 being launched in 2022, the Paradox forms continue to be popular among fans. For instance, last week, a fan reimagined the past Paradox forms for Nidoking and Nidoqueen, creating dino-inspired designs named Horned Crown and Copious Auricle respectively. Here’s hoping that more fans will produce outstanding fan art and share it within the community, especially following the release of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on October 15, 2025. This upcoming game is expected to introduce fresh ideas for fan art creation.
