Elden Ring Nightreign player completes their ‘solo gremlin challenge’, clearing every boss in a row as its squishiest character

A remarkably talented Elden Ring Nightreign player managed to accomplish a feat: they defeated all eight Nightlords (including the updated boss), using the game’s most fragile character. It appears that they may have completed them one after another.

Reddit user PotatoFoSho labels it the “single gremlin test,” a nickname derived from the multitude of memes featuring The Revenant portrayed as a small, enraged doll often brandishing a sword larger than herself. This character is amongst Nightreign’s least durable and heavily reliant on discovering potent spells in each venture. However, when properly equipped, she can employ her colossal skeleton summons to divert the attention of bosses while she dismantles them.

PotatoFoSho discarded their unique gear setup for her, a collection that significantly boosts her mana and spell damage (not her health), instead. They advised fellow Revenant players to concentrate on raiding cathedrals for the seals that grant potent incantation spells and emphasized the importance of targeting evergaol bosses for rapid leveling due to the abundance of runes they provide. It’s also beneficial to carry the Wraith Calling Bell, as it has been found to be surprisingly effective, they added.

Just as any proficient player of The Revenant would advise, it’s wise to accumulate numerous Starlight Shards to maintain a full mana bar since she lacks other means of replenishing FP. They encourage everyone to explore as many Sorcerer’s Rise locations on the map as possible for this purpose.

After completing my initial battle against the revamped “Sovereign Everdark” version of the Gaping Maw boss, I must say I’m truly impressed by PotatoFoSho’s ability to defeat it as a spell-casting character, all while keeping tabs on her skeleton minions. The coordination required for that, not to mention dodging a rampaging dragon and its colossal whirlwind, seems almost Olympian in difficulty.

To ensure there’s help nearby when a boss attacks and I’m overwhelmed, I plan to continue playing Revenant in teams of three. It’s impressive how skilled PotatoFoSho is, truly deserving the nickname “Solo Gremlin.
