Once Human Has Great News for Console Gamers

It’s been confirmed that the widely acclaimed online survival game “Once Human,” developed by Starry Studio (a subsidiary of NetEase), will make its console debut on PlayStation and Xbox in 2026. At present, the game is accessible only via PC and mobile platforms.

In July 2024, the game “Once Human” made its debut on PC storefronts and quickly became a notable title on the platform, boasting over 230K concurrent players at launch on Steam. This puts it among NetEase’s other prominent online games like “Marvel Rivals”, “Naraka: Bladepoint”, and “FragPunk”. Since its initial release, regular updates for “Once Human” have helped maintain a substantial player base, with the multiplayer game still attracting around 30K concurrent players on Steam daily. With console ports now seemingly finalized, it’s expected that engagement with this game will significantly increase in the near future.

At the 2025 Global Annual Showcase broadcasted on July 2nd, the creators of Once Human announced their intention to launch PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the free-to-play game in 2026. They stated that the work on these ports was almost finished, and they would soon reveal sneak peeks and platform-tailored enhancements. In the meantime, enthusiasts using PlayStation and Xbox can add the game to their wishlist to secure early-bird perks upon release. It has also been confirmed that original Once Human players on mobile and PC will be able to use the same account for console play. However, it seems that the console versions might take a while before they align with the advancements of other editions, after which all adaptations are anticipated to remain in sync in this aspect.

Once Human Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2026

Next year, the game “Once Human” is expected to debut on consoles, expanding NetEase’s player base to include console users, following their successful entry into the mobile gaming market in April. With a rating of 4.6 out of 5 on Android and 4.5 out of 5 on iOS, it’s clear that these mobile releases have been highly successful. The developers working on the console versions of “Once Human” are optimistic about replicating this success when the time comes.

Currently, enthusiastic gamers can explore the Annual Version 2.0 update of Once Human, unveiled simultaneously with the live stream. This latest content overhaul offers several new features such as a revamped Once Human class system, an Endless Dream PvE scenario, the Dreamland Wonder event, and additional content for players on both PC and mobile platforms.
