The upcoming “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle” film promises to delve into the title storyline, featuring some of the series’ most brutal battles leading up to an epic confrontation with the Demon King. Every battle is vital for humanity’s survival and will contribute significantly to Muzan’s eventual defeat.

The official trailer suggests three significant battles thus far, and the one between Doma and Shinobu Kocho appears to be the most lopsided due to Doma’s immense strength compared to most demons, surpassed only by Kokushibo. Additionally, unlike Tanjiro, Shinobu has yet to show signs of a Demon Slayer Mark. Given these disadvantages, is there any hope for Shinobu in this encounter?

Born into a life of privilege, I, Shinobu, enjoyed a tranquil childhood under the loving care of my parents and the wise guidance of my elder sister, Kanae. The Kocho family flourished, but our dreams and future were cruelly taken when, one fateful night, a demon invaded our home. My parents bravely sacrificed themselves to shield their children from harm, buying us precious time at the cost of their own lives.

Previously, I thought that the pathway to eternal joy extended infinitely ahead. When it was shattered, I understood for the first time that it rests upon a fragile layer of glass. As we managed to escape, there were those whose happiness had yet to be shattered. Consequently, I decided to grow stronger and shield them from harm. This was our commitment to one another. Although we may be frail and unable to sever demonic heads, vanquishing one demon can save many lives. If we could defeat an Upper Rank Kizuki, we could save countless more. It’s not a matter of whether or not we are capable; there are tasks that must be accomplished.

If it weren’t for Stone Hashira Gyomei Himejima showing up at the critical moment, Shinobu and Kanae would have shared a grim destiny. Following their rescue, Gyomei trained the Kocho sisters, who later rose to become the Hashira. The loss of their parents left an immense void in Kanae’s life, and she became extremely important to Shinobu. Together, they aimed to improve the world by eliminating demons. However, another misfortune befell them, leaving a lasting impact on Shinobu’s life.

One fateful evening, Kanae unintentionally encountered Upper-Rank Two, Doma. Being by herself, the Flower Hashira was compelled to either engage in battle or face certain death. Despite showing great courage, she was simply no match for an Upper Moon like Doma. Doma inflicted grievous wounds on Kanae that would have proven fatal had it not been for dawn’s approach. When Shinobu eventually arrived at the scene, her sister lay dying in her arms. In her final moments, Kanae implored Shinobu to abandon the Demon Slayer Corps and refrain from seeking vengeance, as she was convinced that a similar fate awaited her too.

Shinobu Faces Her Biggest Battle Yet

Shinobu Kocho, an Insect Hashira, isn’t the most powerful demon slayer among her peers. On the contrary, she acknowledges that her petite size and ordinary strength put her at a significant disadvantage. To level the playing field, she devised the Insect Breathing style, which mimics insects and heavily relies on potent wisteria-derived poisons to neutralize enemies. This method often leaves demons trembling with fear, but it gradually loses its effectiveness against more formidable opponents.

Shinobu’s hostility towards Doma propels her to challenge the demon residing in Infinity Castle, and it seems she will do so single-handedly according to the trailer. It’s worth noting that Shinobu, being a Flower Hashira, still hasn’t shown her Demon Slayer Mark – meaning she might have a tougher time facing off against someone as powerful as Doma since a slayer with the mark would likely face similar challenges.

So far, Shinobu’s poison has been effective against lesser opponents, but it’s unlikely the same amount would be enough for Upper Rank Two. Conversely, Doma’s blood demon art is quite perilous. In fact, it has the potential to overpower even the most skilled demon slayers if they aren’t careful around him. Even if someone manages to withstand his Cryokinesis, they’ll still need to confront Doma’s Tessenjutsu, rapid regeneration, and a variety of other abilities that make him seem invincible.

Shinobu Kocho must devise an unconventional method to astonish Doma, which requires a nearly flawless strategy and execution. Deceiving Doma might just be the key, but it appears to be a long shot. However, it would be shortsighted to underestimate Shinobu, as she is well aware that she will one day confront her sister’s murderer.

In a nutshell, the Flower Hashira is renowned for her exceptional intellect, suggesting that her upcoming fight will lean heavily on strategy rather than brute strength. If she unveils the Demon Slayer Mark, it could drastically shift the battle’s dynamics and potentially provide Shinobu with the decisive advantage.
