Pro Heroes In My Hero Academia Who Deserve More Recognition

This list contains spoilers up to the end of season 7 of My Hero Academia

Summary

  • Uwabami helps when needed, despite flashiness.
  • Cementos teaches crucial lessons, but is overlooked.
  • Present Mic contributes significantly to the story.

As a die-hard fan of My Hero Academia, when I ponder over the illustrious Pro Heroes gracing the storyline, it’s often the mighty Endeavor, Aizawa, or the unparalleled All Might that instantly spring to mind. However, this oversight can cause many other seasoned professionals to slip under the limelight, despite their crucial role in safeguarding the students and countering any sinister villains who pose a threat to UA.

Essentially, these characters from “My Hero Academia” may not always receive the recognition they deserve because they aren’t typically at the center of conversations or arguments, even though they occupy significant roles. This analysis aims to highlight their impact on the story and explore reasons for their relative obscurity within the larger narrative context.

8. Uwabami

Despite Making A Rough First Impression, Uwabami Helps Out When It Truly Matters

  • First Appearance: Episode 27

Although Uwabami has achieved the rank of Pro Hero, she doesn’t appear overly anxious or committed to carrying out her responsibilities at first. Instead, she spends more time creating dazzling advertisements and showcasing her latest items. This means that she isn’t often seen on the front lines like many of her peers. Despite being an easy target for mockery, she is deserving of some level of recognition for her efforts in aiding civilians later in the narrative.

Through her unique ability known as Serpentress Quirk, Uwabami can instinctively detect people in peril from considerable distances. This is evident during the hospital raid, where she is spotted saving numerous bystanders. It’s worth noting that Uwabami has been covertly contributing to Japan’s safety against villains, a fact not immediately apparent when she initially appears on the scene.

7. Cementoss

Cementoss May Seem A Little Basic, But He Teaches The Students Some Truly Important Lessons

  • First Appearance: Episode 13

At first glance, the skill of managing cement doesn’t appear as captivating or spectacular as the powers held by many other Heroes. Given his rather plain appearance, Cementoss often gets overlooked and undervalued, despite the fact that he plays a significant role as a mentor.

During the final exam, it became evident that Cementoss demonstrated his superiority when he faced off against Kirishima and Sato. Instead of just defeating them, he made them question the true power of their Quirks, urging them not to squander their abilities in combat. Moreover, during the ultimate war, Cementoss proved instrumental in implementing the heroes’ attack strategy, making it clear that he is no one to be overlooked or dismissed.

6. Present Mic

The Goofy Loud-Mouthed Hero Makes Some Pretty Big Contributions To The Story

  • First Appearance: Episode 5

Due to Present Mic often being portrayed as a hero with a knack for humor even in critical situations, it might seem effortless to dismiss him as an unusual character. Despite his vibrant and unconventional demeanor compared to other professionals, it appears that Mic’s significant role in the narrative hasn’t been adequately recognized or appreciated with accolades he truly deserves.

In some instances, we see Mic working alongside Aizawa to grill a questionable antagonist called Kurogiri. During this challenging ordeal, Mic provided valuable support to his friend. Additionally, remember that it was Mic who smashed the capsule where Shigaraki was confined during Garaki’s experiments. Although this action didn’t entirely defeat the villain, it did delay him from achieving his full potential before being released.

5. Death Arms

Death Arms’ Retirement Has Left A Bad Stain On His Reputation

  • First Appearance: Episode 1

Throughout the series, Death Arms is initially introduced alongside Mount Lady but subsequently vanishes for a significant portion of the narrative, making sporadic appearances here and there. However, following the devastation wreaked by Shigaraki in Jaku City, leading to many heroes losing their lives, Death Arms decided it was fitting to bid farewell to his powerfists permanently, thus retiring and distancing himself from UA.

Due to this, it might seem like he’s a minor and unremarkable character within UA. However, what often gets overlooked is that the Death Arms eventually reemerged with a powerful comeback. Far from being idle while others bask in glory, Death Arms displayed immense courage by participating in the Final War. In this conflict, he employed his exceptional strength to rescue civilians buried under rubble, often found amidst the debris. As such, it’s clear that he is an undervalued and brave professional who made a conscious decision to engage in a perilous battle, demonstrating his true worth and significance.

4. Power Loader

The Mysterious Pro Hero Has Been A Great Help To Deku And The Other Students

  • First Appearance: Episode 13

In a more subdued role compared to other characters, the Power Loader character is seldom seen on screen throughout the series, yet manages to make significant contributions to the heroes’ endeavors. For instance, during both the U.S.J Arc and exams (both initial and final), the Power Loader assists the students by providing a platform for testing their abilities, utilizing its experimental mech to inflict damage.

Generally, I find Power Loader busy in the engineering room, designing and fabricating new equipment and attire for Deku and others. It’s often Mai who garners the majority of the recognition when it comes to crafting heroic gear, but Power Loader’s contributions should not go unnoticed. He may not be particularly fond of receiving praise, but his work speaks volumes about his dedication.

3. Nezu

Nezu Is deceivingly strong Thanks To His Superior Intellect

  • First Appearance: Episode 5

It’s frequently overlooked that although Nezu serves as UA’s president, he is also a Pro Hero. While he may not exhibit the same level of aggression as Endeavor or All Might, his abilities should not be underestimated. For instance, during an exam, he demonstrated significant power by wielding a wrecking ball to demolish the arena, thereby causing Kaminari and Mina’s failure.

Additionally, he frequently doesn’t get enough recognition for the extensive hours and dedication he invests in safeguarding his students. For instance, following the catastrophic U.S.J. event, Nezu appeared on a live broadcast, publicly expressing apologies to the nation as a whole to ensure that his pupils would not face any repercussions or unfavorable comments. Moreover, he has been pivotal in bringing together the Pro Heroes to develop a coherent attack strategy, as demonstrated during the hospital raid and the final battle.

2. Thirteen

Despite Being Humiliated Early In The Series, Thirteen Still Put Their Life On The Line To Save Her Students

  • First Appearance: Episode 10

13’s character has gained a reputation of sorts, often targeted due to her humiliating early defeat at Kurogiri’s hands in the story. Some spectators interpreted this as evidence of 13 being a weak Pro Hero. However, it’s crucial to remember that she was prepared to risk her own life to safeguard the students she was assigned to protect.

In this scenario, Thirteen instructed Ida to hastily return to UA for the purpose of informing All Might and the others that the villains had finally appeared. Thirteen was also going to support Deku after his rebellion, and she would participate in repelling the onslaught of villains during the climactic battle. Despite the possibility of errors, her reputation should not be undermined solely by her current struggles following the defeat at U.S.J.

1. Edgeshot

Edgeshot Has Drastically Changed The Course Of The Series Multiple Times

  • First Appearance: Episode 46

Edgeshot isn’t typically recognized among the most prominent Pro Heroes, given his limited screen time compared to characters like All Might, Endeavor, and Hawks. However, it’s important to note that this Pro Hero has significantly impacted the storyline in significant ways. A notable instance is when he successfully apprehended Re-Destro, thus halting his destructive campaign in Jaku City.

In a truly remarkable turn of events, I found myself in an extraordinary position where I could utilize my Quirk to enter Bakugo’s body after his heroic demise during the fierce war we were engaged in. With delicate care, I mended his internal organs and miraculously revived him, ensuring that our beloved combatant would continue to fight alongside us. It is safe to say that had it not been for my presence, the indomitable spirit of Bakugo might have vanished forever.

Although Edgeshot may not receive the same level of acclaim as some of the top-tier Pro Heroes, I firmly believe he deserves every ounce of admiration. His accomplishments are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
