Next week on the last day of July, Electronic Arts (EA) is set to unveil a major multiplayer event for Battlefield 6, which they have been gradually revealing after conducting Battlefield Labs multiplayer playtests for some gamers over several months. Yesterday, EA officially confirmed the game’s title, and together with DICE, they released their first full trailer earlier today.
With the collaboration of EA Studios Ripple Effect, Criterion, and Motive, DICE is taking a new approach with Battlefield 6, aiming to learn from the lessons of Battlefield 2042 four years ago. One significant change is that Battlefield 6 will come complete with a full campaign in addition to its multiplayer component, which Battlefield 2042 lacked. This marks the return of a full-fledged campaign since the vignette-style story of Battlefield 5 in 2018. The last traditional campaign in the Battlefield series was presented by Battlefield Hardline in 2015, a cops and robbers entry. Additionally, it appears that Battlefield 6 will likely feature a separate free-to-play battle royale mode, something many believe was missing from Battlefield 2042.
Today, Electronic Arts unveiled the initial trailer for Battlefield 6, a thrilling two-minute spectacle packed with action and explosions, scored by Bob Dylan’s “Masters of War.” The trailer predominantly showcased the campaign mode of Battlefield 6, offering glimpses of some battle-intense locations where the story unfolds, such as New York City. Notable characters also made appearances in the trailer who are expected to lead the campaign. Although the trailer primarily highlighted the single-player aspect, it did remind fans that the game’s multiplayer mode will be available on July 31.
Battlefield 6 Multiplayer Reveal Happening on July 31
In the absence of specific details about where and what the multiplayer reveal for Battlefield 6 will be or what the event will entail at the end of the trailer, fans can expect to find updates on the official Battlefield Twitter account and YouTube channel come July 31. Additionally, EA has confirmed a beta for Battlefield 6 , with start dates and times expected to be revealed during the multiplayer reveal next week. A significant query among fans concerns the release date of Battlefield 6. Whispers suggest that the game may launch in October, competing with anticipated titles such as The Outer Worlds 2, Ninja Gaiden 4, and Ghost of Yotei. Meanwhile, the release date for Battlefield 6‘s main competitor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, remains undetermined, with rumors pointing to a mid-November debut. This leaves Battlefield 6 with limited opportunities for a standout release this Fall.
Since the release of Battlefield 2042, enthusiasts of Electronic Arts’ large-scale military FPS games have been eagerly anticipating what the next Battlefield game might offer, given that EA appears to have invested heavily into this latest installment. It is speculated that gamers may finally get a sneak peek at the long-desired battle royale mode in Battlefield, allowing them to determine if it can truly compete with Call of Duty: Warzone. There’s even a chance that the beta for Battlefield 6 could go live on July 31; fans will simply have to stay tuned for updates.
