Toronto Ultra announced that the Call of Duty League Championship for this year will be happening in Kitchener, Ontario, from June 26 to 29. The tournament will take place at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium, a venue that has previously hosted several significant esports events in the city of Kitchener, which is approximately 100 kilometers away from Toronto.
In their latest announcement, the Toronto Ultra team disclosed that they’ll set up an unprecedented 360-degree center stage configuration for the very first time in Canadian esports. This setup promises an extraordinary level of fan engagement unlike anything seen before.
Not Toronto, But Close
For a while now, there’s been talk that the Call of Duty League Championship this year would take place in Toronto. However, it seems that Kitchener is quite near, approximately 100 kilometers away. This proximity might pose some challenges for travelers arriving from overseas, as commuting could become somewhat complex.
The announcement made by OverActive Media, the company that owns Toronto Ultra, was joyfully shared in a recent press release.
Hosting the Call of Duty League Championship in Canada is a milestone for OverActive Media, offering valuable chances for economic growth through tourism, business, and commercial prospects in the local area. We take pride in showcasing a top-tier event that underscores Canada’s position as a leading force in the international esports scene.
Previously this year, OverActive Media organized the Call of Duty League’s inaugural European Major tournament in Madrid. Known as the Madrid Major, it was a resounding success with impressive attendance and overwhelmingly positive feedback from spectators – fans adored the Madrid Major.
At the event, I had a chance to interact with several players, among them being Shotzzy and Huke from OpTic Texas. Each one of them had nothing but positive remarks regarding the European crowd.
2025’s CDL Championship tickets are now available for purchase – make sure you sort out your plans within the next three months, as you wouldn’t want to miss out on the grandest Call of Duty esports tournament in the industry!
