Even though Battlefield 6 is still in the Early Access phase of Open Beta, it has surpassed the all-time peak concurrent player record set by its predecessor, Battlefield 2042. The indications of its upcoming large player base were evident even before the game’s release, as thousands lined up in Battlefield 6 server queues.
On August 5th, just before the start of the Early Access Open Beta for Battlefield 6, it emerged that more than 40,000 players were lined up in the game’s queues. Prior to this, many thousands had already been exploring the Open Beta client, although at that time it only offered a limited selection of menus. These early indicators suggested that both the Battlefield community and possibly fans of multiplayer first-person shooters in general would demonstrate significant enthusiasm for the upcoming game, a prediction now supported by the most recent data.
Battlefield 6 Has Reached Over 330,000 Concurrent Players During Its Early Access Open Beta
As reported by SteamDB, the Early Access Open Beta for Battlefield 6 attracted over 330,000 players simultaneously on Steam, which is approximately 67% more than the peak number of concurrent players for Battlefield 2042 on the platform. Two years ago, Battlefield 2042 peaked at about 107,000 simultaneous players. Now, prior to its official release, Battlefield 6 has surpassed that figure by more than doubling it. It’s important to mention that the Open Beta for Battlefield 6 is not only available on Steam but also on Xbox and PlayStation, so the actual number of concurrent players was likely higher than the reported 330,000.
Battlefield Game | All-Time Peak (Steam) |
---|---|
Battlefield 6 | 334,549 (August 7, 2025) |
Battlefield 2042 | 107,376 (October 16, 2023) |
Enthusiasts of the game Battlefield 6 who wish to participate in the Open Beta can now download the beta version on their preferred platform. Nonetheless, the Early Access phase is only available to specific groups: individuals with a Twitch Drop code, those possessing an active EA Play Pro subscription, and those who registered for Battlefield Labs before July 31. It’s also essential to remember that there’s still an opportunity to secure a code by tuning in to a live Battlefield 6 stream on Twitch for at least half an hour.

For those who don’t qualify for Early Access, don’t lose heart! The global Open Beta for Battlefield 6 starts on August 9 and lasts for 24 hours. A longer phase of the global playtest follows from August 14 to August 17. Fans can breathe easy knowing that the developer is enhancing server capacity due to the beta’s high demand, ensuring smooth gameplay for all. While more tests in the coming months are uncertain, Battlefield 6 is confirmed to launch on October 10, less than three months away.
