How to Get the Megaentomology Badge in PEAK
To earn the Megaentomology Badge, you should endure an attack from an Antlion and manage to survive. You can find these Antlions in the Mesa biome within PEAK. These creatures dwell in enormous, bowl-shaped sand pits. The pits are easily identifiable from a distance due to large circular dents in the sand and a piece of luggage strategically placed at their center to attract players.
Upon approaching the heart of the sandy pit, a creature lurks, ready to erupt. It’ll attempt to drag you into the sand, initiating an Antlion attack. Surviving this encounter is crucial to earn the Megaentomology badge. Given the Antlion’s powerful pull, you’ll need swift reactions and smart positioning to evade its grasp.
As a survivor, should you successfully outlive an attack and flee unscathed, you’ll be honored with the prestigious Megaentomology Badge and a unique cosmetic item as a token of our appreciation.
How To Survive the Antlion Attack in PEAK
For maximum effect, jump against the resistance and keep jumping to cover more ground. Ensure you’re well-rested and energetic before engaging with the insect.
You can use quick stamina boosters before entering the pit to get an edge.
A nibble or two from these critters might make you lose consciousness. Having a companion around could prove beneficial in such situations. They could quickly intervene to help extract you from danger, or, should you fall unconscious, they’d know how to respond with the right tools to revive you and help you regain your footing once more.
After successfully evading the Antlion’s grasp, the Megaentomology Badge will automatically unlock for you. You don’t necessarily have to defeat the creature; merely surviving its attack suffices for now. In simpler terms, all you need to do is get bitten at least once by the Antlion before escaping, and you’ll receive the badge.
As I type this, the Antlion encounter remains unchanged for now, but future game updates might adjust its actions or position. Be sure to check the patch notes if you’re aiming to collect the badge following a significant update.
