This discussion may reveal minor plot details from both the ‘Star Wars Jedi’ series and ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.’
Rebuild the Galaxy” might be perceived as a pleasant change, even though it’s still somewhat lesser known within the broader “Star Wars” fan community.
In essence, the four-part miniseries of “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy” serves as another avenue for collaboration between LEGO and Star Wars, but it’s unique because it allows the IP to explore and expand its universe freely, through playful retellings or revisions of continuity. The second season, titled “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past“, is set to premiere on September 19, 2025, introducing two more iconic Star Wars characters into the mix. However, the introductions of Cal Kestis from “Star Wars Jedi” and Darth Revan from “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic” are bittersweet as these characters are about to embark on new adventures.
Star Wars Jedi is Thriving, But Not for Too Much Longer

In a manner that might even understate it, it’s fair to say that Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars series, which includes Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its upcoming sequel Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has arguably given the Star Wars franchise the truest representation among related media, with perhaps the exception of the acclaimed Disney+ series Andor. Primarily focusing on our playable character, Cal Kestis, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order tells a story about a Jedi Padawan who evades the Empire during the Jedi Purge. With the help of a crew of two, he may aid in the potential restoration of the Jedi Order.
In this initial game, Cal and the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s Stinger Mantis team, now joined by Nightsister Merrin and potentially a Bogling, opt not to chase after more Force-gifted children. Instead, they intentionally hide their whereabouts by destroying a holocron that held the key to locating them, ensuring they remain untraceable to others.
In the next installment, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor”, there’s a five-year time leap and the Stinger Mantis has broken up. However, Cal crosses paths with its former members as the story unfolds. It’s unfortunate that another game could potentially wrap up Cal’s story within the Star Wars universe, making it all the more exciting to see him in “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past”.
In the upcoming sequel, “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor”, a time jump of five years takes place and the Stinger Mantis has dissolved. Throughout the game’s events, Cal reconnects with its members once more. With another possible game on the horizon that might conclude Cal’s tale in the Star Wars lore, it’s disheartening to think that his story may be reaching its end. However, his appearance in “LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past” is a significant bonus.

For some time now, there have been whispers suggesting that Cameron Monaghan’s character Cal Kestis from video games could transition into live-action. While this leap hasn’t happened yet, his appearance in LEGO animation officially indicates that Cal is being considered for roles in Star Wars media outside of the Jedi games.
Interestingly, since the Star Wars Jedi series might be concluding with its next game, Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past, Cal’s role serves as a delightful tribute and a bittersweet reminder that his story may be coming to an end. At least for now, as long as there is uncertainty about what will happen to the character within the broader Star Wars universe.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is Seemingly Hanging on By a Thread

In modern Star Wars fandom, Darth Revan from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic might not be as well-known to those who started exploring Star Wars only in the last ten years. Given how minimal the influence of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has on today’s Star Wars franchise, it wouldn’t be unexpected if contemporary Star Wars fans aren’t overly familiar with this character.
Regarding exceptional Star Wars video games, none might have quite matched it in terms of captivating storyline and universe development, with Darth Revan standing out as an intriguing player-crafted character whose actions significantly shape their cosmic destiny. It’s reasonable to believe that no other Star Wars game will equal this unique experience or Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords-at least not until the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic by Saber Entertainment appears.

The reboot has faced numerous challenging circumstances during its production process, which may prolong its launch significantly, making it unlikely for its release to happen anytime soon.
As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I can’t help but get hyped about the rumored remake of Knights of the Old Republic! Hopefully, it’ll take its sweet time in the oven so we end up with an unbelievable masterpiece.
On the other hand, it’s mind-blowing and thrilling to hear that Darth Revan is making a comeback in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past. But let me tell you, this news also brings back every single challenge we’ve faced during the development of the Knights of the Old Republic remake – memories I could do without!

The LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past might not fully satisfy gamers until more information is revealed about the potential future release of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, but it’s still a comfort to know that characters like Darth Revan and BioWare’s Star Wars RPG haven’t been completely neglected. Since the remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic has temporarily vanished from view, Saber is working on recreating one of the best Star Wars games ever made. If Saber manages to accomplish this challenging task, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past could serve as a delightful appetizer leading up to it.
