The game titled “Lost Soul Aside,” which was initially launched on August 29, is encountering criticisms due to technical problems specifically on PC. This debut title from Ultizero Games was published by PlayStation for both PC and PS5. It’s an action-adventure hack-and-slash game that showcases swift combat akin to games such as “Devil May Cry” and the upcoming “Final Fantasy 16.
Lost Soul Aside, initially unveiled in 2014 as a lone endeavor of Chinese developer Yang Bing, later evolved into a full-fledged project under Ultizero Games studio after collaborating with Sony. Originally planned for release in May 2025, the date has been pushed back to August in order to ensure a superior gaming experience. This delay was met with approval from the community, who encouraged the developers to invest as much time as necessary to launch this decade-long project in its best possible form.
Lost Soul Aside is Having a Rough Launch on Steam
Unfortunately, despite Yang Bing’s high expectations, it seems “Lost Soul Aside” isn’t faring too well on PC. At present, the game has a “Mixed” rating on Steam, with 41% of users marking it as “Not Recommended.” Players are reporting several performance issues, such as camera jerks, sudden frame rate drops, and visual glitches, which seem to be the primary reasons for the negative reception. While most acknowledge the game’s strong points in terms of combat and graphics, they find that the PC version’s execution leaves much to be desired.

It seems that the creators of Lost Soul Aside have acknowledged the issues, as they’re not only addressing negative feedback on Steam but also released a Day 1 patch meant to boost performance. However, it appears this update has had minimal effect so far. The game’s performance is just one of many concerns among users; the hurried story progression, awkward character movements, and challenging camera angles are all being criticized as well. Even more debate arises over the $70 price tag, with some believing it should have been set at around $40 instead.

As a gaming enthusiast, diving into the world of Lost Soul Aside on Steam was somewhat underwhelming for me, personally. The game struggled to breach the 3,000 player mark on its debut day. However, the PlayStation version seems to be thriving, boasting a commendable average star rating of 4.11/5 from around 1,100 reviews. It’s intriguing to see such a contrast between the two versions, with many attributing it to the Unreal Engine. Yet, it’s essential to note that the developers haven’t officially confirmed this yet.
If you’re undecided, you can give “Lost Soul Aside” a test run without spending a dime! It’s accessible on both PC and PS5 platforms. This gives those with less potent hardware a chance to experience the game before making a purchase. On top of that, Sony has lifted the region-lock restrictions for the PC version of “Lost Soul Aside“, expanding its accessibility globally.
