How to Fish in Destiny: Rising

In Destiny: Rising, if you’re keen on some angling action, you’ll first need to embark on the ‘Go Fishing’ Side Quest in Chapter 2-3. Head over to Pandora-7 in Heaven and follow the marker to a fishing hotspot within the city. There, an Exo merchant with a soft spot for Bon Voyage Charms will hook you up with a fishing rod and some bait – all you need to reel in those virtual catches!

  1. Cast the line into the pond by tapping (or clicking) on it, then wait for the indicator to glow yellow.
  2. Hook in to catch a regular fish, or hold the bar by tapping continuously or pressing and holding on the screen to keep the piece hooked, and making the fish’s stamina drop.
  3. Remember to have bait available, and to control the Fishing Rod durability to keep on angling.

Every time players cast their lines for a catch, they’ll deplete a ‘durability unit’ from their fishing rods and use up some Bait. Each fish caught will boost their Fishing proficiency, with each level bringing them rewards like Weapon Enhancement Prisms and Fishing Ability Points. These points can be invested in the Fishing Ability development path to enhance the Guardian’s angling abilities.

How to Get More Bait and Fishing Rods

As a keen gamer, I’ve found that you can nab some Baits by swapping them for Angler Tokens at the Fishing Supply store in Pandora-7. Plus, there are some special Baits up for grabs too – you just need to level up your Fishing skills and conquer those tricky Fishing challenges!

Apart from purchasing Fishing Rods from Pandora-7’s store, you can acquire them via alternative methods as well. This includes elevating your Fishing level and claiming the rewards associated with it from the Fishing section within the Casual Activities menu.

What to Do with Fish in Destiny: Rising

At Pandora-7’s store, you can trade fish for Angling Tokens, which are essential for continuing your fishing adventure. Additionally, you might encounter some feline companions in Heaven and other places. By stroking them, players can discover their preferred type of fish, and they’ll even receive a few Angling Tokens as a reward. It’s entirely up to the player whether they choose to hand over the fish to Pandora or feed it to the cats instead.

Cats can be seen in almost every nook and cranny of Heaven. One cat is hanging out at the market, another is perched at the counter of the Old Time Saloon, and a third is guarding Lord Radegast’s Throne Room entrance. Each cat has its own tastes: Some prefer Blue Fish, some enjoy Yellow Fish, while others go for Red Fish. It’s up to the players to figure out which species favor these colors and feed them the right ones to earn rewards.
