As a die-hard fan of the Hollow Knight series, let me share some exciting insights about the Wispfire Lantern, a gem I stumbled upon during my adventures in Silksong. This powerful tool is like having your own personal firework show – it constantly summons fireballs that chase after enemies, ensuring they take a hit!
However, there’s a catch – using the Wispfire Lantern comes with a trade-off: it consumes a substantial amount of Silk. This means you’ll have to be more mindful about your hook usage during exploration. So here’s a quick rundown on everything you should know about this amazing tool in Silksong, including its location!
Besides using Silk, remember to disable Wispfire Lantern’s auto-target feature before tackling a parkour challenge since it tends to focus on allies that assist with platforming. Thus, ensure you turn it off prior to the parkour event.
Wispfire Lantern Location In Silksong

In the game ‘Silksong’, the Wispfire Lantern is located within the Wisp Thicket region. This small area serves as a bridge between Underworks and Greymoor, allowing Hornet to bypass Blasted Steps when moving towards Underworks or Choral Chambers, making her travel more convenient.

Finding the Wispfire Lantern within the Wisp Thicket region can be quite challenging due to its camouflage high above Greymoor in Silksong. Essentially, it’s a concealed location nestled within another hidden spot. To locate Wisp Thicket, make your way to Greymoor and ascend the tower near the Halfway Home Inn. Following this, veer left towards an area adorned with balloons, sandwiched between the two towers in Greymoor – that’s where you’ll find it!

Upon arriving, search for a concealed opening in the ceiling. Once found, enter and proceed while keeping an eye out for a tiny, almost unnoticeable wooden staircase tucked away in the passage’s corner. Due to the dimness within the passage, it may be hard to see.
After entering the Wisp Thicket, search for a nearby bench on your right side to avoid having to redo the entire path should Hornet lose balance. This bench will be directly there as soon as you step into the Wisp Thicket.
To locate the Wispfire Lantern in the Wisp Thicket region, continue walking west until you hit a dead-end. Here, you’ll encounter a boss named the “Flame’s Patriarch.” Defeat him in the game ‘Silksong,’ and you’ll receive the Wispfire Lantern as your reward. This immobile boss surrounds itself with four lanterns that launch fireballs at Hornet. To halt the boss from generating fireballs, you should jump and attack those lanterns. This will help you complete the first phase of the battle.
In the second stage, a large forge will materialize on the boss’s chest, causing it to produce more fireballs. Similar to the initial phase, your objective is to target and damage the forge on the boss’s chest until it’s destroyed, ultimately defeating the Flame Father.
