Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo Gets An Official Anime Trailer By Studio MAPPA

Jujutsu Kaisen has quickly become a hugely popular anime and manga. The anime, made by MAPPA Studio, has been a major hit, which has also boosted manga sales, making Gege Akutami’s series a worldwide bestseller.

Following the incredible popularity of Jujutsu Kaisen, a sequel titled Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo is scheduled for release in 2025. It will be created by Gege Akutami (writing) and Yuji Iwasaki (art). Today, MAPPA released a brief new trailer for the series, hinting at exciting things to come for the JJK universe.

MAPPA Unveils A New Anime Trailer Featuring Yuji Itadori To Promote JJK Modulo Volume 3

The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen concluded in March 2026 and was well-received by fans, who were eager for more. While many expected Season 4 to be MAPPA’s next animated project, the studio surprised everyone with an announcement. On April 30, 2026, MAPPA released a full trailer for Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, adapting the work of creator Gege Akutami and artist Yuji Iwasaki. The 30-second promotional video beautifully brings this story to life and can be viewed here:

The latest promotional video showcases the main characters – Yuka, Tsurugi, Cross, and Maru – alongside familiar faces like Yuji Itadori and Dabura. It focuses on key moments from the series, including Yuka Okkotsu’s battle with Dabura using Mahoraga, and the reappearance of Rika. The video maintains the unique art style of Yuji Iwasaki, which differs from Gege Akutami’s style. While visually distinct from the original Jujutsu Kaisen anime, the trailer is still incredibly impressive.

How The Mappa Trailer Will Boost JJK Modulo Sales

Many fans are curious about the recent short promotional video for JJK Modulo. The reason for its release is straightforward: it’s an advertisement for the upcoming JJK Modulo Volume 3, which will be the final volume published in Japan. Studio MAPPA is promoting the release to keep fans engaged and maintain strong sales.

Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo is expected to be a top-selling manga in May 2026 and throughout the entire year. Volume 3 is scheduled to be released in Japan on May 1st, 2026, with release dates for other countries to be announced later by international publishers.

A Full-Fledged Modulo Anime Is Likely Coming After Shinjuku Showdown Arc

The recent teaser for Jujutsu Kaisen: Modulo has fans incredibly excited about the future of the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, perhaps even more so than the next season! Many are hoping for a full anime adaptation of Modulo, and it’s likely to happen eventually. Modulo is a popular story in its own right, but it also contains crucial plot developments that are essential to the overall narrative. Because of this, an anime adaptation of Modulo is really needed to finish the story. However, while it will likely happen, don’t expect it anytime soon. MAPPA is currently working on the main Jujutsu Kaisen manga, and it makes sense to finish that before starting its sequel.

The Jujutsu Kaisen anime is currently showing the Culling Game arc, and after that, it will adapt the intense Shinjuku Showdown battle. Given the current animation speed, it might take three to five years to cover both. After Shinjuku Showdown wraps up, there’s a strong chance the Modulo storyline will get its own anime adaptation. This will allow fans who only watch the anime to discover a brand new story set 68 years after the original JJK, offering a fresh but equally thrilling experience. Modulo features incredible fights and even more impactful character development, while also resolving many unanswered questions from Gege Akutami’s original series.

All 25 chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo are available to read on Manga Plus.
