Everyone is really excited about a potential anime adaptation of the popular webcomic, *Solo Leveling*. While many fans are hoping for an announcement from A-1 Pictures soon, it looks like Season 3 is still a long way off. Someone involved with the project recently shared that it could be years before it’s released.
An early-year Q&A session about the anime *Solo Leveling* included discussions about casting choices and the potential for a third season. Producer Sôta Furuhashi highlighted the significant effort involved in creating the first two seasons. He suggested that news about Season 3 likely won’t be available until after the next Olympic Games, when a clearer picture of the anime’s future will emerge.
Solo Leveling Producer Admits To A Prolonged Wait Ahead
The anime series *Solo Leveling*, based on the popular webtoon, began airing in January 2024 with its first season, followed by a second season in January 2025. Now that Season 2 has finished-almost six months ago-fans are eager for news about what comes next. The lack of updates is causing concern, and recent comments from Furuhashi indicate a new season isn’t likely to arrive in 2026.

When asked about the upcoming season, Furuhashi said it would be his most challenging yet, and he’s eager to get started, just like everyone else.
That’s a really difficult question! Like everyone else, I’m really excited about a potential Season 3. But creating the animation for just the first two seasons took an incredible 220,000 frames, and I’d like to give the animation team some much-needed time to rest. If I had the final say, I’d suggest waiting until after the next Olympics to announce anything about Season 3. Ultimately though, deciding when to start work on that 220,001st frame is up to Kaneko-san and the team at A-1 Pictures.
As a huge fan of *Solo Leveling*, I was really hoping to hear some news about Season 3 soon, but it’s looking like we might be waiting a while. The director, Furuhashi, made some comments that left everyone wondering if he was talking about a 2026 Winter release or even the 2028 Summer season. Honestly, it now seems pretty unlikely that we’ll get Season 3 in 2026 at all, which is a bit of a bummer!
A-1 Pictures is known for focusing on high-quality animation, so the recent delays with Season 3 of *Solo Leveling* will likely result in a better final product. According to Crunchyroll President Rahul Purini, as reported by *Deadline*, the delay is due to increased demand for animation across the industry.
The people who make the show have plans for many different projects. Because anime is so popular right now, there’s high demand for new seasons, so we’re waiting for the best moment to begin working on the next one.
Despite any concerns, the announcement and release of *Solo Leveling* Season 3 will be a huge moment for the anime world. Fans are hoping to see the new season by 2026.
Solo Leveling’s Unstoppable Rise

The popular series *Solo Leveling*, which combines Korean Manhwa comics with Japanese anime style, is currently a huge hit. In early 2025, its second season became the most-watched show on Crunchyroll, and fans are eagerly awaiting new episodes.
Although *Solo Leveling* has become incredibly popular, catching many by surprise, it’s natural to expect that new anime series will eventually attract viewers’ attention. *My Hero Academia* is one such series, with its season 8 premiering on October 4th and expected to generate a lot of excitement and conversation among anime fans.
While fans wait for new episodes, they can enjoy the Solo Leveling manhwa or rewatch Seasons 1 and 2, which are available on Crunchyroll. For a more detailed look at Sung Jinwoo’s story, the manhwa offers a great way to explore his adventures.
