The following contains spoilers from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga and anime.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train was both visually stunning and told a compelling story. The most memorable part was the intense fight between Akaza and Kyojuro Rengoku, which happened after Enmu was defeated. Rengoku fought with everything he had as the powerful Akaza relentlessly attacked. The animation studio, Ufotable, didn’t hold back in showing how brutal and fierce the battle was. By the end, Rengoku was critically wounded and on the brink of death.
The death of the Flame Hashira at the end of the movie was deeply upsetting for many Demon Slayer fans, and the upcoming Infinity Castle arc looks set to be even more intense. While Rengoku’s death was heartbreaking, this new battle is shaping up to be truly terrifying.
Kokushibo is Set to Wreak Havoc in the Infinity Castle
The Upper Moon Will Slaughter Demon Slayer With Ease
- Muichiro Tokito Will Suffer Serious Injuries After Running Into Kokushibo
From the beginning of the story, the Twelve Kizuki have been the main antagonists, constantly opposing the Demon Slayer Corps. As Muzan Kibutsuji’s most powerful followers, they are incredibly dangerous, possessing immense strength and years of fighting experience. Every fight involving a member of the Twelve Kizuki has been a major, intense battle. The fight between Akaza and Rengoku was a prime example, demonstrating two incredibly skilled warriors pushing each other to their absolute limits. These clashes are always brutal and violent, and Kyojuro’s death was particularly horrific. However, the current battle, with Kokushibo facing Gyomei, Muichiro, Sanemi, and Genya, has the potential to be even more devastating and violent than anything we’ve seen before.
Upper Rank One hasn’t had a major fight yet, so most of his powers are unknown. However, during the meeting of the Upper Moons after Gyutaro and Daki were defeated, he briefly demonstrated a frightening ability. He casually sliced Akaza, the Upper Rank Three, who couldn’t defend himself. Given how easily Akaza defeated a powerful swordsman like Rengoku, this suggests Kokushibo is incredibly strong.
I’ll take care of your wounds. Humans are easily broken, aren’t they? But… if you die from blood loss, or if Lord Ubuyashiki doesn’t deem you worthy and you perish… then it was simply your destiny. You wouldn’t have been anything special. Don’t you think so? ~ Kokushibo to Muichiro Tokito
During the Infinity Castle battle, Muichiro will unfortunately be the first to encounter Kokushibo. Feeling completely alone and vulnerable, he’ll be overwhelmed by fear at Kokushibo’s mere presence, expecting a swift defeat. Before Muichiro can react, Kokushibo will demonstrate incredible speed and precision, quickly trapping him. Each blow will be life-threatening, leaving Muichiro certain he’s about to die unless someone intervenes. Within moments, the Mist Hashira will be on the brink of death, and Kokushibo will mockingly offer to stop his bleeding.
But Kokushibo won’t let up. Seeing Muichiro so violently defeated, Genya will hesitate, fearing for his own life, and consider attacking the demon. Before Genya can act, however, Kokushibo will react with incredible speed and awareness, appearing behind him. In a matter of seconds, Kokushibo will sever Genya’s arms and legs, completely disabling him.
The Battle for Demon Slayer Corps’ Survival
Kokushibo’s Victory Could Be a Deathblow to Hopes of Defeating Muzan
- Sanemi and Gyomei will engage in a violent showdown with Kokushibo
Just as Muichiro and Genya are nearly defeated, Sanemi and Gyomei will arrive to help. Even these powerful Hashira will be shocked by how fierce Kokushibo’s attack is. With two demon slayers already struggling, the battle between Kokushibo and Sanemi and Gyomei will determine the outcome of the fight in the Infinity Castle. Kokushibo will continue to fight with brutal force against the two Hashira, and as both Sanemi and Gyomei unlock their Marked Form, the battle will become even more intense and desperate, with every strike carrying immense weight.
If Kokushibo defeats both Hashira, the Demon Slayer Corps will be crippled. However, if Sanemi and Gyomei win, it would be a huge turning point, putting Muzan in an even more difficult position. No matter who wins, the fight will be incredibly brutal, with everyone fighting to survive.
