On October 4th, Pokemon GO will feature Mega Metagross in a special Raid Day event. This adds another Mega Evolution to the game, highlighting a popular Pokemon from a fan-favorite generation. Scopely, the game’s developer, is bringing the spotlight to this powerful pocket monster.
Metagross is a remarkably strong Pokémon that looks like a robotic spider. It first appeared in the *Pokémon Ruby* and *Pokémon Sapphire* games, and is well-known as the Pokémon used by Steven, the Hoenn region Champion. In later games, Metagross gained even more power with a special transformation called Mega Evolution, changing its arms into legs and adding new legs to its head. Fans love this powerful Pokémon, and it’s soon coming to *Pokémon GO*.
Mega Metagross Debuting in Pokemon GO in Upcoming Event
Pokémon GO is hosting a special event on Saturday, October 4th, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time, featuring Mega Metagross! Trainers will have a chance to battle and catch this powerful Steel/Psychic-type Pokémon in Mega Raids, and there’s even a chance to find a shiny version. Mega Metagross caught during the event will have a special attack called Shadow Claw. After the event, regular Metagross can learn this attack using an Elite Fast TM. To help players participate, Pokémon GO is increasing the number of Remote Raid Passes available to 20 from October 3rd at 5 PM to October 4th at 8 PM PT, and players can earn up to five extra Raid Passes by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.

This ticket includes 5,000 extra XP, double Stardust during raids, and a better chance of finding Rare Candy XL. You can purchase an Ultra Ticket Box for the Mega Metagross Raid Day through the Pokémon GO web store – it includes the event ticket and a free Premium Battle Pass. Plus, to celebrate the recent leveling update, players will earn bonus XP for winning raids and making accurate throws (Nice throws or better) until October 14th.
