So, I just found out some cool news about *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment*! If you’ve played *Tears of the Kingdom* or *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity* before, you can get a couple of free weapons in the new game. Basically, if you have save data from either of those games on your Switch, you’ll unlock them automatically. Pretty neat if you’re already a *Zelda* fan like me!
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment continues the story established in both Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game features the same action-packed gameplay as previous Hyrule Warriors titles, but tells a new, official story that expands on Zelda’s adventures in the distant past.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment Bonus Weapons
As the release of *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment* gets closer, details have emerged about rewards for players who have previously played other *Zelda* games. If you have a save file from *The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom*, you’ll receive the High Guard’s Sword. Players with a save from *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity* will unlock the High Guard’s Claymore instead. Both weapons become available after completing the mission “The Howling Tempest” and returning to the main Hyrule map.
The *Hyrule Warriors* series has been a hit for Nintendo and Koei Tecmo, successfully combining characters and stories from *The Legend of Zelda* with the action-packed gameplay of *Dynasty Warriors*. Originally released on the Wii U, the first game proved popular enough to be re-released on the Nintendo 3DS and later the Nintendo Switch. A sequel, *Age of Calamity*, followed, offering a story set in the same period shown through flashbacks in *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild*.
Given the success of *Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity* – selling over four million copies – and the strong sales of the Switch 2, Nintendo’s new *Age of Imprisonment* is expected to be equally, if not more, popular. This continues a trend of exciting *Zelda* games for fans, following *Tears of the Kingdom* in 2023 and *Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom* in 2024, with *Age of Imprisonment* launching on November 6, 2025. It’s unclear if Nintendo has plans for even more *Zelda* games in the future to keep this consistent release schedule going.
