Recently, *Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo* has been very popular, and fans are pleased with the direction author Gege Akutami is taking the story. While fans are still getting to know the new characters like Yuka and Tsurugi, they’re also excited about the intriguing villains, the Simurians. The Simurian King appears to be a powerful and frightening enemy, with some even comparing him to Sukuna.

Characters like Cross and Maru add a lot to the story, though Maru mainly supports the main characters. The author, Gege Akutami, is excellent at creating compelling new characters, but fans still love the original cast, especially Gojo Satoru, who was arguably the heart of *Jujutsu Kaisen*. Now, Akutami seems to be attempting to recapture the magic of Gojo through a new character – Maru, the recently introduced Simurian.

Maru is presented as a lighthearted and playful character, but beneath that cheerful exterior, he hides considerable power – much like Gojo. While he isn’t the strongest fighter, many fans have observed a striking similarity between Maru’s warm, almost childlike personality and Gojo’s behavior during the Hidden Inventory arc.

It’s interesting to note that the author, Gege Akutami, seems to be revisiting ideas from their earlier work when creating the characters of Maru and Cross. While Maru is known for being expressive, his older brother, Cross, is the opposite – very reserved and often comes across as rude. Both brothers appear to be equally powerful, creating a mirroring effect that many fans have noticed. This has led to speculation that Cross is based on the popular character Sukuna. Considering the immense popularity of characters like Gojo and Sukuna, it’s reasonable to think Akutami drew inspiration from them when developing Maru and Cross.
