As we know, Roger has passed away, and the title of Pirate King is currently unclaimed. However, someone has gained all of his abilities. Although many assume it’s Luffy, it’s actually a different character entirely.

After Rocks’ defeat, the era became known as the Age of Roger, solidifying his reputation as the most powerful and impactful pirate of his time.

Roger was incredibly powerful, rivaled only by legends like Whitebeard and Garp. He was essentially seen as Roger’s protégé, and everyone in Roger’s crew, including Buggy, considered him a serious contender to take over as Pirate King.

Beyond that, Shanks fights remarkably like Roger. Neither relied on Devil Fruit powers, and like Roger, Shanks wields his sword with incredible force, essentially using it as a bludgeon. Instead of cutting, Shanks’s sword creates powerful blasts, similar to how both Roger and Rocks fought. While Luffy is destined to exceed Shanks and become Pirate King, Shanks is the one who carries on Roger’s strength and fighting style.
