Dungeons & Dragons has announced Lorwyn: First Light, a small addition to the game that introduces characters, creatures, and stories inspired by the Magic: The Gathering world of Lorwyn. This 32-page digital supplement for Dungeons & Dragons will be released on November 18th, and you can purchase it separately or as part of the larger Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle.
Lorwyn Eclipsed is the latest Magic: The Gathering set, launching on January 23, 2026. This new expansion revisits the captivating world of Lorwyn, a plane players first explored nearly twenty years ago in 2007. Filled with creatures like Faeries, Boggarts, Ashkin, Merrow, and Elves, this magical land hides a troubling secret: Shadowmoor, a dark and distorted version of Lorwyn, is starting to merge with the peaceful realm.

However, Magic: The Gathering isn’t the only property from Wizards of the Coast benefiting from the excitement around Lorwyn. Dungeons & Dragons has revealed Lorwyn: First Light, a 32-page digital book for Dungeons & Dragons that centers on the well-loved Magic: The Gathering setting. This official, short supplement will feature two new backgrounds, feats, magical items, and playable species, as well as eight monsters. It also includes advice on how to use eight more Lorwyn species as player options, and two brief adventures, each with a corresponding map.

However, the announcement mentions it will include “incarnations of nature, faerie tricksters, and wandering giants,” which will allow players to create either heroic characters or mischievous creatures from the Lorwyn-Shadowmoor setting. This resource can also assist Dungeon Masters in integrating this realm with other settings, like the Forgotten Realms, or even bringing those worlds to Lorwyn. Notably, Dungeons & Dragons previously described Lorwyn as a Domain of Delight – a type of demiplane within the Feywild that functions as a counterpart to Ravenloft’s Domains of Dread in D&D.
Lorwyn: First Light is scheduled to be released on November 18th, one week following the release of the Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun and Adventures in Faerun D&D books it complements. Fans who are interested can purchase this addition for $15 individually, or as part of the $160 Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle.
