Analysts Predict How Many Copies Battlefield 6 Will Sell in First Week

Experts have examined the early numbers for Battlefield 6 and are forecasting its first-week sales. These forecasts are promising, but if they prove correct, EA still has a significant challenge ahead to reach its target of 100 million players for Battlefield 6.

So far, Battlefield 6 is off to a great start. The beta test was incredibly popular, with 500,000 players jumping in on Steam the very first day. It became the most-played beta in Battlefield history, and the developers announced that over 420 million matches had been completed by August 21st.

Analysts Predict Battlefield 6 Sales

Experts are predicting how many people will buy Battlefield 6 when it releases. The analysis firm Ampere (reported by The Game Business) believes around 1.7 million copies have already been pre-ordered on Steam. They also forecast that 5 million copies will be sold in the first week after launch. Considering that about 22 million people tried the Battlefield 6 beta, analysts estimate that less than 25% of those players will purchase the full game on day one.

Battlefield 6 has a big challenge ahead to attract 100 million players, but it’s still achievable. Even though the beta test went well, many players now prefer to wait and see reviews and hear what other gamers think before buying or playing a new game. With its rival, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, coming out just a month after Battlefield 6, some players might delay their decision even further to compare both games. Player numbers could increase significantly during and after this comparison period.

However, there are also factors that might hinder Battlefield 6 from reaching its objectives. Unlike Call of Duty, Battlefield 6 won’t be part of Xbox Game Pass. Instead, it will be available on day one through EA Play, but only for PC players. Another limitation is that Battlefield 6 won’t support older consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One, potentially lowering the initial number of players. Even *if* Battlefield 6 *did* include support for those consoles, reaching its target player base could still be difficult. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was a major hit for Activision, but the entire Call of Duty series only had 22 million players in 2023, decreasing to 20.6 million by 2025. It remains to be seen whether Battlefield 6 can significantly surpass CoD‘s numbers and ultimately succeed.
