PlayStation Plus subscribers don’t have much time left to get a handful of free games, including the incredibly popular Stardew Valley. This well-known farming game is available to those with a PS Plus membership until October 7th.
Stardew Valley has consistently improved and gained popularity since it first came out in early 2016. It’s considered one of the best farming simulation games ever made, boasting an average score of 90 on OpenCritic and a 99% positive recommendation rate. As of June 2025, Stardew Valley also holds the record for the highest-rated indie game on Steam.
Stardew Valley Is Free on PS Plus for a Few More Days
If you’re a PlayStation Plus member, you’ve been able to get Stardew Valley since September 2nd. This offer is ending soon – it will expire next Tuesday, October 7th. Psychonauts 2 and Viewfinder are also currently available as free games for PS Plus subscribers. If you haven’t already, you can add them to your library either through the PS Plus section on your PlayStation’s home screen, or by finding the games on the PS Store and choosing “Add to Library.” You don’t need to download the games to claim them.

Sony provides free games each month to all PlayStation Plus members, even those with the basic PS Plus Essential plan. If you claim these games within the monthly timeframe, they’re added to your library and stay there. However, unlike games you buy, these free PS Plus games need an active subscription to play-you can’t access them if your subscription lapses. They are tracked separately from purchased games.
Sony has revealed the free PlayStation Plus games for October 2025, with Remedy Entertainment’s highly praised survival horror game Alan Wake 2 leading the list. Also included will be Cocoon, a puzzle game from Geometric Interactive that was released in 2023, and the chaotic sandbox game Goat Simulator 3 from Coffee Stain. You’ll be able to download all three of these games once Stardew Valley and the current PS Plus games are removed on October 7.
The free games offered each month with PlayStation Plus are usually revealed the week before they become available. These games traditionally launch on the first Tuesday of every month, so we anticipate the November 2025 games will be officially announced around late October. Before that, new games for PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers are coming on October 21st, and Sony is expected to share details about them roughly six days prior, following their usual communication schedule.
