The demo they released today as part of Steam’s Tower Defense Fest has captured my attention with its unique blend of nostalgic tower defense mechanics, roguelike elements, and deckbuilding mechanics.
Today, Anawim Studios, a husband-and-wife team, unveiled a fresh demo for Iconia Defenders on Steam’s Tower Defense Festival. This innovative game blends the charm of classic tower defense with roguelike features and deckbuilding mechanics, providing players with an engaging experience that combines the best of both worlds. In other words, Iconia Defenders offers a modern take on tower defense games by incorporating elements from roguelikes and deckbuilders.
The Tree of Life is being drained. After giving up your recollections and abilities through a self-sacrificing deed, you now hold the Corruption Extractor – the sole instrument capable of eliminating corruption from the Tree’s roots in this realm. With each setback, you are returned to the Tree’s roots, where it renews your powers at the expense of the tainted essence taken during your test. Your objective: cleanse the Tree’s histories – every failed attempt results in a branch being forever lost.
