Plaion Will Publish Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I’ve seen my fair share of publishing partnerships and announcements. But none have piqued my interest quite like Plaion and Skydance Games’ collaboration on Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.

Today, Plaion revealed a global publishing partnership with Skydance Games in a recent press statement. According to the announcement, Plaion will be responsible for releasing Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra on a global scale.

According to Skydance Games’ co-president Julian Beak, “we consider PLAION an ideal publishing partner for launching Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra across multiple platforms and globally. They align with our bold aspirations for this project.”

Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Plaion, added that this collaboration supports Plaion’s goal to establish a significant presence in video game publishing on a global scale.

In March 2024, Skydance New Media unveiled the story trailer for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra as their initial announcement.

The trailer unveiled recently for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra didn’t show any gameplay footage, but it did make it clear that the game will be released in the year 2025. The official press statement issued today further emphasized this release year, without providing any fresh launch information.

Rise of Hydra is characterized by the developers as an “interactive storyline game” featuring a team of heroes. The action unfolds during World War II with Captain America and the 1940s Black Panther (Azzuri) at the forefront.

In the announcement issued today, Haluk Mentes from Marvel Games expressed that Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra offers a “refined and daring interpretation” of some of our cherished and enduring superhero characters.

At Plaion, our publishing branches consist of Deep Silver, Prime Matter, and Ravenscourt. Notable releases from Deep Silver include Dead Island 2 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Meanwhile, Prime Matter has put out titles like System Shock and the critically acclaimed survival horror game, The Chant.
