It looks like finding shiny Pokémon in *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* will be a bit simpler. A reliable source says a feature from an older game is returning, which will help players track these rare Pokémon. While the new Mega Evolutions are likely to be the main draw of *Pokémon Legends: Z-A*, shiny hunters will definitely appreciate this helpful addition.
Ever since Nintendo announced *Pokemon Legends: Z-A* in February 2024, fans of monster-catching games have been eagerly anticipating the newest game in the action-RPG series. In the weeks leading up to its October 16th release, Nintendo and Game Freak have been sharing previews, including reveals of Mega Evolutions, while leaks from online communities have also added to the excitement.
The Shiny Sound Reportedly Returns in Pokemon Legends: Z-A
A reliable source on Twitter, CentroLeaks, has revealed that the new *Pokemon Legends Z-A* game will bring back a popular feature from *Pokemon Legends: Arceus*: a special sound that plays when a shiny Pokemon is nearby. Fans have nicknamed this the “shiny sound.” It’s a quick series of ascending chimes that alerts players to the presence of a shiny Pokemon in an area. CentroLeaks also states that the game will show shiny Pokemon with unique icons, making them easier to spot in your storage after you’ve caught them.
This feature originally appeared in the *Legends* series, and it remains important in *Pokemon Legends: Z-A*. Because these games are action RPGs – unlike most *Pokemon* games with their turn-based battles – it’s much simpler to accidentally defeat a rare, shiny Pokemon. Although *Pokemon Scarlet and Violet* lets your Pokemon wander and battle automatically, the special sound effect for shiny Pokemon isn’t included, and isn’t necessary, as the game prevents your Pokemon from automatically attacking shiny Pokemon.

As a huge Pokémon fan, I’m getting so excited for *Pokémon Legends: Z-A* to finally come out on Switch and the new Switch 2! But it’s looking like it’s going to be tough to avoid spoilers. People have been saying they’ve seen early copies of the game popping up since October, so I’m bracing myself for leaks as the release date gets closer and closer. I just want to go in fresh, but it might be hard!
